Abstract: A method of making a food product can include forming an emulsion containing a meat and a firming agent that is one or more of plasma, whole egg powder, guar gum, pea fiber, pea protein, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) or a modified cereal starch; directing the emulsion through a die to form a meat analog; cooking the meat analog with steam; and cutting the meat analog into thin flakes. The method can include cooling the meat analog before the cutting. The method can include mixing the thin flakes of the meat analog with jelly or gravy to form a blended food composition in which a ratio of the flakes to the jelly or gravy is about 30:70 to about 70:30.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a konnyaku product in which scum causing smell and unpleasant taste is effectively reduced and that does not require a pretreatment for removing them, a production method therefor, and an alkaline coagulant suitable for the production of such a konnyaku. The object can be achieved by using, as an alkaline coagulant for konnyaku production, an alkaline solution containing non-reducing sugar, calcium hydroxide as an alkaline component for coagulation, and water, in which the non-reducing sugar and the calcium hydroxide are dissolved in the water.

Abstract: Glucosyl Stevia compositions are prepared from steviol glycosides of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni. The glucosylation was performed by cyclodextrin glucanotransferase using the starch as source of glucose residues. The glucosyl Stevia compositions were purified to >95% content of total steviol glycosides. The compositions can be used as sweetness enhancers, flavors, flavor enhancers and sweeteners in foods, beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

Abstract: This invention provides improved printed heaters for use in articles such as wearable garments and seats. The improvement comprises replacing the single large area resistive material layer with columns of a number of small patches of resistive material or of continuous resistive material, i.e., replacing the single large area heater with a number of smaller individual heaters. A series of conductive strips across the columns render the heater more robust, less sensitive to local resistive area failure. Printing of the resistive material is facilitated since the area of each resistive material patch is greatly reduced. In addition, the embodiments enable the opportunity to provide a breathable heater.

The garment is conformable over a range of sizes, and may be shaped to fit numerous sizes and shapes of forming molds. The ePTFE membrane may shrink to fit, or, alternatively, be stretched to fit, a mold having a desired size to form a garment. Such a conformable ePTFE membrane may allow for forming multiple sizes of garments with various sizes and shapes of molds. In embodiments where the ePTFE membrane is seamless and continuous, the garment eliminates the need for a waterproof seam tape, which is conventionally used to make garments waterproof.
