  • Patent number: 10420449
Abstract: The handheld cleaning apparatus provides a handheld cleaning apparatus comprising a removable handle, abrasive particles, angled edges, open channels, and a flexible yet durable surface for scouring. The invention creates an abrasive, or “sanding,” cleaning apparatus that is better suited for cleaning dirty surfaces than a traditional cleaning sponge. The handheld cleaning apparatus retains the abrasive outer shell of a sanding sponge but is much more flexible and water permeable than current sanding sponges. To this end, the handheld cleaning apparatus comprises open channels, or “blow holes,” that promote water flow through the sponge and give the sponge flexibility. The size and the number of the channels vary by the material or density of the sponge. The handheld cleaning apparatus, additionally, contains a handle that is removably attached, which enables the consumer the ability to connect one or more cleaning apparatuses together to form the desired shape and form of the cleaning apparatus.

  • Patent number: 10420463
Abstract: A method for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye on the basis of an optical, contactless data capture. In the method for determining the topography of the cornea of an eye, which is based on a deflectometric method, the deflectometric measurements are carried out with the aid of a keratometric method by virtue of additional OCT-based scans being made at the keratometric measurement points, wherein the two measurement systems are registered to one another and both the keratometric and the OCT-based measurement values are recorded and used for mutual calibration to determine and output the topographic data. The proposed method serves to determine the topography of the cornea of an eye. It is helpful to ascertain the topography in order to be able to draw conclusions about possible pathological changes. Moreover, the exact measurement of the corneal topography is of great importance for correcting refractive errors.

Abstract: The invention provides a body-worn monitor featuring a processing system that receives a digital data stream from an ECG system. A cable houses the ECG system at one terminal end, and plugs into the processing system, which is worn on the patient's wrist like a conventional wristwatch. The ECG system features: i) a connecting portion connected to multiple electrodes worn by the patient; ii) a differential amplifier that receives electrical signals from each electrode and process them to generate an analog ECG waveform; iii) an analog-to-digital converter that converts the analog ECG waveform into a digital ECG waveform; and iv) a transceiver that transmits a digital data stream representing the digital ECG waveform (or information calculated from the waveform) through the cable and to the processing system. Different ECG systems, typically featuring three, five, or twelve electrodes, can be interchanged with one another.

  • Patent number: 10420481
Abstract: An intravascular catheter for nerve activity ablation and/or sensing includes one or more needles advanced through supported guide tubes (needle guiding elements) which expand to contact the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the needles to be advanced though the vessel wall into the extra-luminal tissue including the media, adventitia and periadvential space. The catheter also includes structures which provide radial and lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes open uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall. Electrodes near the distal ends of the needles allow sensing of nerve activity before and after attempted renal denervation. In a combination embodiment ablative energy or fluid is delivered from the needles in or near the adventitia to ablate nerves outside of the media while sparing nerves within the media.

  • Patent number: 10420484
Abstract: A system and method for producing an image of a subject with a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system using an adaptive gating window with constant gating efficiency is provided. Navigator data is acquired from the subject and used to produce a gating window having a defined gating efficiency value. Image data is acquired with the MRI system while measuring a position of an anatomical location within the subject. Image data is accepted or rejected based on whether the measured anatomical location is within the gating window. The gating window is updated using the measured position of the anatomical location such that a substantially constant gating efficiency value is maintained. Imaging is repeated with the updated gating window, after which the gating window is again updated. When the desired amount of image data has been acquired, an image of the subject is reconstructed.

Abstract: Images where the vascular walls are automatically divided are obtained by obtaining two MRI images that reflect different properties of the blood vessel and obtaining the difference between the two images. This can image both the vascular inner and the outer walls, thereby obtaining the exact size of the blood vessel, and the thickness between the vascular inner and outer walls. Therefore, it is possible to stably perform the operation using a stent with an accurate size during the stent procedure.
