The treatment procedures involve the use of sutures or wires to fix the relative orientations of the scaphoid and lunate, and the optional use of bone anchors or other bone attachment devices to create a capsulodesis between the lunate and scaphoid, or other bones, to lift the scaphoid into the desired position. Localization of the entry point of the sutures or wires into the bones are used to improve positioning of the bone anchors, sutures and wires.

A linkage mechanism including a trigger, an actuation link, and an actuation shaft can be positioned within the in-line handle. A locking mechanism such as a ratchet mechanism can also be used to lock the end effectors. A surgical dissector can include gripping jaws having a curved profile or an angled elongate shaft to minimize tool interference and maximize visibility within a procedure site.
