Patent number: 10421097Abstract: A remote adhesive monitoring system is used in connection with adhesive applied to workpieces moving along a production line. A reservoir, pump, and applicator apply the adhesive to the workpieces. A monitor control computer has an associated data processing program. A pump cycle sensor senses pump cycles. An applicator sensor senses when the adhesive is applied to the workpieces. A workpiece sensor senses the workpieces moving along the line. The monitor control uses input from the applicator sensing means and the workpiece sensor to determine an ON time per each workpiece at a predetermined speed. The monitor control uses input from the workpiece sensor and the pump cycle sensor to determine the number of workpieces per pump cycle. The monitor control calculates an ON time to TOTAL time ratio per each workpiece. The monitor control will then calculate an amount of adhesive used for the given ON time to TOTAL time ratio.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2018Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Assignees: HENKEL AG & CO. Patent number: 10421139Abstract: A method for producing a tapped bore in a workpiece with a tap drill bit, which, at its drill bit tip, has a primary cutting edge and a thread profile trailing in a tap drilling direction. The method has a tap drilling stroke, in which the tap drill bit is driven into the workpiece with a tap drilling advance in the tap drilling direction and at a tap drilling rotational speed synchronized therewith, and the tool-primary cutting edge produces a core-hole bore, and the thread profile of the tool bit forms an inner thread at the inner wall of the core-hole bore. In the tap drilling stroke, shavings are produced, which are conveyed in a shavings discharge direction, which is oppositely directed to the tap drilling direction, out from the tapped bore and collide here with thread flanks of the inner thread that face the shavings that are discharged.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2018Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Assignee: AUDI AGInventor: Peter Kopton

Patent number: 10421145Abstract: Provided is a method for producing a circumferential weld joint. With this method, when low-carbon martensitic stainless steel pipes used for pipelines for transportation of petroleum and natural gas are subjected to circumferential welding, the circumferential welding can be performed efficiently using a low-cost welding material having a composition similar to the composition of the low-carbon martensitic stainless steel pipes. Pipe ends of low-carbon martensitic stainless steel pipes containing prescribed components are butted against each other and subjected to multi-pass arc welding using a welding material containing prescribed components. In the first pass in the multi-pass arc welding, CMT welding is performed in which the welding material is moved back and forth against a molten pool to generate an arc intermittently. In the second and subsequent passes, one selected from GMA welding, GTA welding, and the CMT welding is performed.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2015Date of Patent: September 24, 2019Assignee: JFE Steel CorporationInventors: Takeshi Suzuki, Yukio Miyata, Hiroki Ota, Shinsuke Ide
