Abstract: A touchscreen-based control method is performed at a terminal having one or more processors, memory for storing programs, and a touchscreen, the method including: detecting a first touch point acting on a first icon displayed on the touchscreen; in response to detecting the first touch point, displaying an auxiliary control region and a candidate effect range region on the touchscreen, an area of the candidate effect range region being greater than an area of the auxiliary control region and establishing a mapping relationship between a location of the candidate effect range region and a location of the auxiliary control region; obtaining a first effect range according to a location of the first touch point when the first touch point is moved into the auxiliary control region; and performing, on a virtual target in the obtained first effect range, a first operation corresponding to the first icon.

Abstract: An integral greeting card/game is disclosed wherein a multi-panel greeting card also serves as a game board and is combined with a game piece and launch mechanism to create a novel, interactive greeting card. The multi-panel greeting card contains a sound module therein and a magnetic trigger is contained and concealed below one or more of the multiple greeting card panels. The game piece contains a magnet therein so that when the game piece comes into contact with the area of the greeting card above or proximate to the magnetic trigger, playback of an audio file is initiated. In one embodiment, the game piece is operative to interact with a touch screen of a mobile device.

Abstract: A handheld game controller assembly adapted to combine with a portable electronic device includes a game controller, a receiving receptacle and an external retaining device. The game controller has a pair of holding portions and a transversal portion arranged between the pair of holding portions. The receiving receptacle is fixedly configured at a front end of the transversal portion. The external retaining device has a plugging unit removably engaged in and fixed to the receiving receptacle, and a clipping unit connected to the plugging unit for clipping a portable electronic device.

Abstract: Methods for hosting low-latency streaming interactive audio/video (A/V) include executing one or more video games or applications on a server communicatively coupled to a data network. Packet streams are received from a plurality of users and routed to the one or more video games. The packet streams include user control input that are used to compute A/V data in response. The A/V data are received from the video games or applications. Portions of the A/V data are compressed in parallel using processing units resulting in low-latency streaming compressed A/V data. The low-latency streaming compressed A/V data are routed to each of the users over a corresponding data network communication channel. The executing of video games, receiving of packet streams and A/V data, compressing portions of the A/V data and routing the compressed A/V data are performed with a latency such that at least one user has the perception that the controlled video game is responding instantly.

Abstract: A method performed at an electronic device includes: executing an application; establishing a session between the executing application, a remote server associated with the application, and a media device that transmits output from the session to an output device, wherein the output from the session includes output from the executing application; and presenting to users of one or more second electronic devices on which the application is not executing and/or installed a session identifier associated with the session, wherein the session identifier facilitates joining of the session by the second electronic devices and identifies a controller configuration implementable on each of the one or more second electronic devices for enabling the users of the one or more second electronic devices to interact with the session.

Abstract: Resources for hosting game sessions can be dynamically selected based upon factors in addition to availability and capacity. A requested session may have various criteria enabling it to be hosted on different types of resources, such as different types of resource instances operating on physical servers. While a fixed amount of capacity can be purchased over an extended period of time, options can also exist that enable purchasing resource capacity for a limited period of time, or purchasing excess capacity without a fixed time limit but that is subject to potential interruption. Benefits relating to cost and performance may offset these potential limitations, and the selection of a type of resource to host a game can be based upon an analysis of these factors. If a game session is to be interrupted or will time out, advance notice can be provided such that the game can take a corresponding action.

Abstract: A board game system comprises one or more game objects, a processing device, a memory device and one or more cameras. Each of the game objects comprise a unique visual marker positioned on a top surface of the game object, wherein the unique visual marker comprises a series of concentric rings that represent data that uniquely identifies the game object. As a result, during the course of game play, the location and identification of the game objects are able to be determined by the processing device by analyzing images captured by the one or more cameras of the visual markers of the game objects on the game board. The processing device is able to compare the data of the visual markers to a table stored in the memory device that associates the data with a specific game object.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing and improving the performance of a body motion of an animal or human subject requires instrumenting a subject with inertial sensors, monitoring a body motion of interest, converting sensor data into motion data and animation, comparing the motion data with existing data for motion related performance parameters, providing a real-time, information rich, animation and data display of the results in color coded displays; and based on the results prescribing a training regime with exercises selected from a library of standardized exercises using standardized tools and training aids.

Abstract: A method of providing a card game implemented by a computer includes the steps of; determining open cards and hidden cards different from one another to be assigned to first and second user terminals each including a screen configured to display an open card area having rows and columns and a hidden card area; providing a first card identifier information of the open cards, a first location information of the open cards, a second card identifier information of the hidden cards, and a second location information of the hidden cards; determining a rating of cards disposed along each column of the open card area based on a combination of the cards in the same column; comparing the rating of each column of the first user terminal to that of the second user terminal; and determining win or lose of the card game based on the compared result for each column.

Abstract: Examples of the disclosure provide real-time display of achievements to a user during gameplay. A computing device receives a request from a user to display a portion of achievement data describing performance of the user in a gaming application. Responsive to the received request, the achievement data is filtered based on contextual criteria. The filtered achievement data is provided to a user interface for display during gameplay. The displayed achievement data is updated by the computing device updates during gameplay. The achievement data may be system-level achievement data. Further, the achievement data may be displayed on another computing device.

Abstract: In an approach, a game server records events that occur within a match of a video game played using a plurality of game clients. After the match has concluded, the game server scores the events according to a plurality of criteria corresponding a plurality of play of the game categories. A sliding window is passed over the events in a number of increments. During each increment, the score for each event that falls within the sliding window is aggregated for each of the categories. The game server then selects a play of the game category and determines the top aggregated score for that category. Once determined, the game server sends one or more instructions to the game clients which causes the game clients to display a replay of the events that occurred during the time window increment corresponding to the top aggregated score for the selected category.

A virtual camera setting unit controls the virtual camera in such a manner that at least any one of the player object and an attention enemy object is included in an imaging range on the basis of a position of the player object and a position of the attention enemy object. Abstract: Techniques and systems for tracking multiple objects over a common time period and identifying (i.e., disambiguating) the objects from one another. As described herein, each object may include a respective light source (e.g., one or more LEDs) that may illuminate according to a defined lighting pattern. One or more cameras may capture images of a scene that includes the objects and the images may be analyzed to identify a location of each respective light source within the scene. By identifying these locations over multiple images, the movement of each object may be determined. In some instances, a system that tracks the movement of the objects may iterate through instructing each of the objects to illuminate its light source according to an identification lighting pattern, while other light source(s) of the other respective object(s) continue illuminating their light sources according to a default lighting pattern.

Abstract: A system, a machine-readable storage medium storing instructions, and a computer-implemented method are described herein for a System Tuner for defining an in-game event requiring accumulation of a pre-defined set of virtual objects in a virtual game (or online game) prior to termination of the in-game event. The System Tuner determines a head-start subset from the pre-defined set of virtual objects for a target player account based on a difference between a reference player skill level for the virtual game and a player skill level of the target player account. The System Tuner determines, based on the player skill level of the target player account and a pre-defined duration of the in-game event, a drop rate for virtual objects remaining in the pre-defined set of virtual objects. The System Tuner sends the head-start subset and the drop rate to a client device associated with the target player account.

A system for virtual reality simulation may include an accessory (e.g., one or more of a bat, a glove, or a helmet) for interacting with a virtual reality environment. The accessory may provide the user with haptic feedback that emulates sensations that the user would experience when playing a live-action sport to provide the user with a more meaningful and realistic experience when playing a virtual reality game. Further, virtual reality simulations disclosed herein may include incorporating data from a live-action event (e.g., a live-action sporting event) into a virtual reality environment to provide a user with a realistic experience.

A repeat step is conducted to obtain another value of the at least one of model coefficients. A statistical step is conducted, wherein a value of the monitoring statistic is calculated. A control step is conducted, wherein the value of the monitoring statistic is compared to a control limit.

Abstract: Inlet and outlet connections of a well manifold connect to integrated piping of a unitary vessel on a skid. The unitary vessel defines an interior separated into two chambers by a barrier. One chamber has a test inlet for well testing operation, and the other chamber has a production inlet for production operation. Each of the chambers is in communication with a gas outlet for gas, a water outlet for water, and a condensate outlet for condensate. Each of the chambers has a weir plate disposed in the chamber and separating the water outlet on a waterside of the weir plate from the condensate outlet on a condensate-side of the weir plate adjacent the barrier. During use, the second chamber can be isolated so well testing operation can be performed using the first chamber. Also, the first chamber can be isolated so production operation can be performed using the second chamber.

Abstract: A disc filter including a stack of apertured filter discs arranged about an axis, the stack having an outer surface and an inner surface and being mounted such that during backflush, individual discs are rotatable relative to adjacent discs about the axis and a disc cleaning assembly operative to rotate at least some of the discs about the axis relative to others of the discs, the disc cleaning assembly including at least one first fluid conduit for producing at least one outer liquid jet directed generally tangentially into engagement with the outer surface of the stack for rotationally driving the at least some of the discs about the axis relative to others of the discs and at least one second fluid conduit for producing at least one inner backflushing liquid jet directed into engagement with the inner surface of the stack.

Abstract: A filter element arranged in a filter housing is provided with an annular filter medium flowed through by a liquid medium in a flow direction radial to a longitudinal axis of the filter element. A clean chamber is arranged in the flow direction of the liquid medium downstream of the filter medium. A filtered liquid medium outlet is fluidically connected to the clean chamber. A cylinder-shaped water separating screen is arranged in the clean chamber to separate water contained in the liquid medium. A water outlet opening fluidically connects the clean chamber to a water collecting chamber of the filter housing. A particle filter is arranged at the water outlet opening or arranged between the water outlet opening and the filtered liquid medium outlet of the filter element. The water outlet opening of the filter element is fluidically connected with the water collecting chamber of the filter housing.
