  • Patent number: 10456570
Abstract: The present invention relates to subcutaneously implanted graft-port systems, devices and methods for establishing access to the vascular system of a patient requiring multiple blood treatments over an extended period of time. The systems, devices and methods disclosed herein reduce miscannulation, promote intra-session hemostasis, and decrease the incidence of bacteremia and sepsis among other improvements and advantages. The devices include a port with a flattened plateau-like surface for receiving an access tube. The flat surface may include a tactile or visual guide to assist with placement of the access tube into the tapered seat. Optional valve mechanisms reduce the size and form factor of the implantable graft-port device and seals the conduit of the port closed to physiologic pressures until the valve is opened upon percutaneous insertion of the access tube. Abstract: A particle therapy system capable of reducing the installation area and also suppressing a variation in the irradiation beam position is provided. A synchrotron generates a charged particle beam, and a beam delivery system irradiates an irradiation target with a charged particle beam extracted from the synchrotron thereby forming a radiation field. A rotating gantry is provided with the beam delivery system and is rotatable around the irradiation target. Dispersion measuring devices, each of which measures the dispersion of the charged particle beam at the position of the irradiation target at a plurality of rotation angles of the rotating gantry, are also provided. The orbit center of the charged particle beam extracted from the synchrotron and the rotation axis of the rotating gantry are located on substantially the same straight line.

Abstract: A neuromodulation system including a catheter has a balloon along its distal end. An ultrasound transducer positioned within an interior of the balloon can be selectively activated to emit acoustic energy radially outwardly, targeting nerve tissue and other portions of the subject anatomy. Targeted nerve tissue can be heated by the application of ultrasonic energy to neuromodulate the tissue. The system may be delivered over a guidewire. A catheter enhances fluid delivery to a distal end of the catheter while reducing an overall diameter of the catheter. The catheter comprises a guidewire lumen that is eccentric relative to a center axis of the catheter.

Abstract: The pneumatic exercise device comprises a resistance base and an ergonomic handle. The pneumatic exercise device may be used in pairs to perform exercises and physical therapy. The resistance base provides resistance to movement of the ergonomic handle. The ergonomic handle is coupled to a shaft projecting from a top of the resistance base. Another end of the shaft is coupled to a piston within an air cylinder inside a housing of the resistance base. A pressure differential of an air caused movement of the piston creates the resistance. An amount of resistance may be changed by sliding a resistance adjustment lever on a side of the housing. The angle of the ergonomic handle is adjustable by pressing a pivot release on the side of the ergonomic handle.
