  • Patent number: 10508263
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for isolating human cardiac ventricular progenitor cells (HVPs), wherein cultures of day 5-7 cardiac progenitor cells are negatively selected for one or more first markers expressed on human pluripotent stem cells, such as TRA-1-60, to thereby isolate HVPs. The methods can further include positive selection for expression of a second marker selected from the group consisting of JAG1, FZD4, LIFR, FGFR3 and TNFSF9. Large populations, including clonal populations, of isolated HVPs that are first marker negative/second marker positive are also provided. Methods of in vivo use of the HVPs for cardiac repair or to improve cardiac function are also provided. Methods of using the HVPs for cardiac toxicity screening of test compounds are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10508266
Abstract: A method is for prevention and/or biological control of wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum, by use of suitable bacteriophages. In addition a method uses the structural characterisation, genome sequence and activity of three specific lytic bacteriophages of R. solanacearum. Podovirus presents an elevated stability between 4° C. and 30° C. in an aqueous medium in the absence of a host. As a result of the high level of stability, lytic activity, elevated specificity towards R. solanacearum and the absence of activity against the microbiota associated with the plants to be protected, bacteriophages are used for the biological control of R. solanacearum in river courses and irrigation water, as well as in a method for preventing and/or controlling the wilt produced by the bacteria, in which at least one of the bacteriophages, or combinations thereof, are delivered to the plants and/or the soil in the irrigation water.

Abstract: The present disclosure methods for identifying binding partners using cell surface display libraries, where the cells of the library display engineered peptides on their cell surfaces for identification of peptides that bind to targets of interest. The engineered peptides are preferably expressed in the cells under conditions that provide both secretion and display of the engineered peptides on the cell surfaces, thus providing access of the engineered peptides to identify potential binding pairs. The cell libraries cab be engineered using an automated editing system that provides for one or more targeted edits per cell.
