  • Patent number: 10508631
Abstract: The apparatus and related method employ fluid pressure to first separate the water accumulation chamber from the filtration chamber of a filter assembly by closing fluid flow pathways that allow water to flow into the accumulation chamber. With the chambers separated, fluid pressure is applied to the accumulation chamber to open a drain valve and push water out of the accumulation chamber. The period for which pressure is applied to the accumulation chamber can be regulated by sensors detecting a low water level, or can be timed, or both. When the water removal is completed, the fluid pressure is removed and fluid communication between the filtration chamber and the water accumulation chamber is restored.

  • Patent number: 10508639
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting autoignition in a spark-ignited internal combustion engine, wherein values for the combustion chamber pressure are measured during a compression stroke of the internal combustion engine at defined crankshaft angles within an evaluation window, a filtered pressure value is determined from the measured values for the combustion chamber pressure, and theoretical pressure values in the combustion chamber that would arise if no combustion took place in the combustion chamber are determined for the defined crankshaft angles. The value of the slope between two defined crankshaft angles for filtered pressure values is determined, the value of the slope between two defined crankshaft angles for theoretical pressure values is determined, and a difference of the slope values is calculated therefrom. This difference is compared with a specified threshold value, and, if the threshold value is exceeded, an autoignition in the combustion chamber is inferred.

Hinge bracing includes lower V-shaped struts that act as lower stops when the barges pitch up and also include upper struts that act as upper stops when the barges pitch down. The pumps are positioned in parallel. The pumps have special couplings such as ball joint couplings that permit motions other than longitudinal pump/ram motions due to multi-axis forces generated by the wave motion and thus provide omni-directional stress relief to the pumps.

  • Patent number: 10508660
Abstract: An apparatus and method of controlling the position of a variable vane in a compressor and a kit for adding such apparatus to the compressor are disclosed. The vane is coupled to a unison ring, a cam is secured to a torque tube, a cam follower is secured to the unison ring. The cam follower is secured such that a wall of the cam follower is in contact with the cam. Rotation of the torque tube causes movement of the cam, and movement of the cam moves the cam follower, thereby moving the unison ring and the variable vane coupled thereto.

  • Patent number: 10508666
Abstract: A hydraulic system for an automatic transmission, in particular a dual-clutch transmission, of a motor vehicle. A high-pressure circuit, in which a pressure accumulator, at least one clutch, and gear selectors are connected, and a low-pressure circuit for cooling the clutch. The high-pressure circuit and the low-pressure circuit have at least one hydraulic pump, which can be driven by an electric motor. The hydraulic system also has a control unit, which activates the electric motor of the hydraulic pump when a requirement to charge the pressure accumulator is identified. The high-pressure and low-pressure circuits are connected via a bypass line to an integrated accumulator charging valve, which in a non-charging position fluidically connects the hydraulic pump to the low-pressure circuit and in a charging position fluidically connects the hydraulic pump to the high-pressure circuit.

  • Patent number: 10508670
Abstract: An alternative connection element to a permanent structural connection, with the ability to be disassembled or reconfigured. The apparatus and method creates a stable compression and tension connection of structural elements that provides a fixed connection but allows for dis-assembly and use of dissimilar materials and finishes. The connection includes a first bore through a primary structural element and a tension bore extending inwardly from a surface of the primary element intersecting the first bore. A compression bore extends inwardly from an opposite surface of the primary element. A secondary element is received in the first bore, and receives a tension element through the tension bore, aperture, and compression bore. A compression element is operably connected to the tension element so that the compression element and tension element are operable to urge the secondary element in abutment with an inner surface of the first bore.

  • Patent number: 10508671
Abstract: A strut channel support system including a first brace, a second brace, and a fastening mechanism connects at least two channel struts in a multi-orientable fashion. The first brace and the second brace both possess a U-shaped channel, a base, a fastener-engagement point, and a strut-engagement point. The base is terminally connected to the U-shaped channel, the fastener-engagement point is centrally integrated into the base, and the strut-attachment feature is integrated into the U-shaped channel. This permits the base to retain the rear portion of a strut channel. The U-shaped channel perimetrically braces the lateral sides of the strut channel. The first brace and the second brace attach to each other via the fastener-engagement point. The fastener-engagement point of the first brace and the fastener-engagement point of the second brace are mechanically coupled to each other. This enables a user to adjust the orientation between at least two strut channels.
