Abstract: A database system stores data as hypertables that represent partitioned database tables. Each hypertable comprises chunks of data that may be distributed across multiple locations, each location comprising at least a storage device. The database system provides an interface that allows database queries seamlessly to hypertables as well as standard tables. The database system dynamically creates chunks as records are added to a hypertable. The database system defines a new partitioning strategy if the storage configuration of the database system is changed by adding new locations or removing existing locations. The records added to the hypertable before the storage configuration was changed continue to be stored as chunks distributed according to the previous partitioning policy.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for matching electronic activities with record objects based on entity relationships. The method can include accessing a plurality of electronic activities, identifying an electronic activity, identifying a first participant associated with a first entity and a second participant associated with a second entity, determining whether a record object identifier is included in the electronic activity, identifying a first record object of the system of record that includes an instance of the record object identifier, and storing an association between the electronic activity and the first record object. The method can include determining a second record object corresponding to the second entity, identifying, using a matching policy, a third record object linked to the second record object and identifying a third entity, and storing, by the one or more processors, an association between the electronic activity and the third record object.

The installation includes an interrogator to provide at least one query defining a filter to select data sought by using the database filter. The installation includes a representation of a hierarchy table that includes, for each hierarchised datum, the data on which it is dependent, regardless of the number of hierarchical levels separating them, the data being contained in a separate record of the table which also contains the hierarchised datum. During an interrogation on the basis of a query pertaining to hierarchised data, the database filter provides a response to the query formulated on the basis of the hierarchy table without resorting to external interrogation tools.

In response to receipt of a search query from a client, a search result that includes at least a portion of one or more data annotations is generated to be sent to the client. The search query may request performance of a search against the semantic information to obtain first semantic information associated with first data type(s) of the data types. The portion of the one or more data annotations may include the first semantic information. The first semantic information may describe operation(s) to be performed on data of at least one of the first data type(s).

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to electronic message searching. An electronic device receives a request that includes a search term. The device can initiate a search based on the search term to produce a plurality of search results of a plurality of time periods that do not overlap. The device determine whether there are more than a predetermined number of search results for a given time period. If the predetermined number of results is exceeded, the device can display a search result group. If the predetermined number of results is not exceeded, the device can include the search results, corresponding to the given time period, in search results of a different time period. The device can also provide various affordances for narrowing or expanding the scope of the electronic message search.

Abstract: A method trains a model for providing content items to users of a social networking system. The system generates profile vectors based on user profile information such as demographic data and personal data. The system logs actions performed by users on the social networking system and generates behavior vectors based on the logged actions. The profile vectors and behavior vectors are each associated with a user attribute, e.g., the age or gender of a user. The system generates a difference vector based on a profile vector and a behavior vector. The difference vector is then used as a feature to train the model using machine learning techniques. The trained model may select content items that a target user is most likely to be interested in and interact with.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes, sending, to a client device of a user of an online social network for presentation to the user, one or more references corresponding to one or more content items of the online social network, respectively. Each reference is presented with one or more call-to-action elements. Each call-to-action element is a user-interface element that prompts an action from the user to initiate a particular function or process related to the content item via the online social network. The call-to-action elements for each content item are presented in ranked order based on a suitability of the call-to-action element to the content item. The method includes receiving a selection of a call-to-action element presented with a reference corresponding to a particular content item. The method includes executing the function or process related to the content item on the online social network prompted by the selected call-to-action element.

The disclosed systems may be configured to receive a first ontology and a second ontology, the first ontology and the second ontology comprising hierarchically organized ontological data. The disclosed systems may also be configured to receive an indication that a first ontological datum in the first ontology is equivalent to a second ontological datum in the second ontology, and a query for ontological data related to a third ontological datum subordinate to the first ontological datum. The customization may include randomizing top portions of the lists, selecting and/or ranking the advisers in real time based on probability of advisers being connected within a period of time for real time communication with customers, etc.

Abstract: A data flow design system is presented that includes support for both static elements and dynamic elements. Thus, the data flow design system provides a design environment graphical tool to users to design data flows that leverage both the repeatability of static elements and the adaptability of dynamic elements. Static elements process data that typically do not change over time, while dynamic elements process data that do change. For instance, new data fields are added to an input data source of a data flow. The dynamic elements automatically link the new data fields to mapping fragments of the data flow. Mapping fragments process data based on configuration parameters including expression and filter rules. Users use a user interface of the design environment to view and add mapping fragments, static links, and dynamic links to the data flow.

Abstract: The method, system and a computer program and a computer product for managing workers and documents is provided. The method includes storing industry representations and a list of workers with data related to the workers, linking the industry representations to the workers and selecting at least one worker from based on the industry representations for that worker. The method also includes scheduling workers to a job based on whether they have all of the required industry representations. In addition, the method includes uploading industry representations and bar code scanning industry representations into the database. The method further includes dispatching said industry representations to other users and automatically mapping fields of the dispatched data in the destination database. In addition, the method includes selectively encrypting only sensitive fields in data transmission between two entities.

Abstract: Visually interactive identification of a cohort of similar data objects is disclosed. One example is a system including a data processor to access a plurality of data objects, each data object comprising a plurality of numerical components, where each component represents a data feature of a plurality of data features, and to identify, for each data feature, a feature distribution of the numerical components. A selector selects a sub-plurality of the data features of a query object, where a given data feature is selected if the component representing the given data feature is a peak for the feature distribution. An evaluator determines a similarity measure based on the sub-plurality of the data features. An interaction processor iteratively processes selection of a sub-plurality of the data features based on domain knowledge, and identifies, based on the similarity measures, a cohort of data objects similar to the query object.

Abstract: A method for resolving the synchronization of identity data from a central database server to distributed database servers is provided. The method involves synchronizing identity data to central and distributed database servers based on identity data types associated with a factory. The method first includes assigning by a configuration manager identity data types to factories which manufacture devices that will need identity data. Next an Identity Data (ID) Loader receives a file containing the identity data, and the ID Loader loads the identity data to a central database server and creates a file history record indicating a record of the file loaded. Next, a Factory Synchronizer Loader (FSL) is triggered to create and execute jobs to load identity data, configuration data or other data. Finally, the identity data is synchronized between the central data base with the remote database servers in a location of the factory.

Abstract: Disclosed is a storage efficient multi-key sharding approach for use in a data management system. The data residing on the data management system can be partitioned based on multiple columns independently of one another, thus providing faster querying on each of the columns used for partitioning. The more partitioning attributes other than the key attribute of data records in the data records being partitioned can be used. Specifically, a multi-key partitioning approach consistent with embodiments described herein can be applied to perform load balancing between multiple parallel servers or server processes.

Abstract: A system for storing graph data as a multi-dimensional cluster having a database with a graph dataset containing data and relationships between data pairs and a schema list of storage methods that use a table with columns and rows associated with data or relationships. An analyzer module to collect statistics of a graph dataset and a dimension identification module to identify a plurality of dimensions that each represent a column in the table. A schema creation and loading module creates a modified storage method and having a plurality of distinct table blocks and a plurality of table block indexes, one index for each table block and arranges the data and relationships in the given graph dataset in accordance with the modified storage method to create the multi-dimensional cluster.

Abstract: Certain embodiments described herein relate to data analysis systems, methods, and devices that comprise one or more processes and/or methodologies to add structure around a tabular database. By doing so, certain data analysis systems, methods, and devices can provide similar analytical functionalities as structured databases on one hand, as well as similar scalability and/or performance capabilities as tabular databases. In some embodiments, an add-in to a tabular data engine, such as Microsoft Excel, can be provided, through which a user can be allowed to input one or more dimensions and/or variables as desired for generating an analytical report. Based on such input, in certain embodiments, the system can be configured to build one or more data analysis expression (DAX) queries to dynamically generate a report, which can subsequently be displayed in the tabular data engine.

The data may be received, ingested, stored, analyzed, and/or otherwise processed by a super-platform. The data may be aggregated and the data and/or aggregate data may be analyzed by a recommendation engine executing on the super-platform to determine one or more recommendations for a particular end-user based on an analysis of the data and/or aggregate data associated with that end-user. Such recommendation(s) may be provided to the end-user through an end-user interface and/or search engine provided by the super-platform, or through a third-party entity.

The processor selects one or more items of the explanatory indices, clusters the values of the explanatory indices of the selected one or more items, identifies a range of the values of the explanatory indices of each of the items of each of the clusters which are obtained by the clustering, and outputs the identified value ranges.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to evaluating whether two data records reflect the same entity using a classifier in the absence of ground truth. Without ground truth, it is difficult to determine the precision or recall of a classifier. The present disclosure generates output data comprising a list of unique signatures generated from a set of records that are compared with each other. The output data may also comprise corresponding record pairs limited to a predetermined sample size for each unique feature signature.

The retrieval method comprises: receiving a semantically annotated query with semantic annotations to individuals or classes within a determined populated base ontology; embedding, as a set of weighted-mentions to individuals or classes within the populated base ontology, the semantically annotated query in a semantic representation space of an ontology-based metric space IR model; obtaining the representation in the semantic representation space for every indexed information unit; computing the Hausdorff distance between the space representation of the query and the space representation of all the indexed information units of the collection; retrieving and ranking, the relevant information units based on the computed Hausdorff distance.

Abstract: A social networking system selects advertisements for a user based on user characteristics of the user in response to a request to present an advertisement to the user. To increase the number of advertisements eligible for presentation to the user, the social networking system associates the user with one or more cluster groups associated with targeting criteria that are not satisfied by the user's characteristics. To determine whether to associate a user with a cluster group, the social networking system determines a cluster score for the cluster group based on the user's characteristics. If the cluster score equals or exceeds a cluster cutoff score for the cluster group, the user is associated with the cluster group. The cluster cutoff score may be determined based on an estimated distribution of users so that a target number or percentage of users have cluster scores less than the cluster cutoff score.

The search may be narrowed according to the user's favorite programs or according to a subset of programs most likely to be watched, e.g., from a chronological history of programs the user usually watches and/or those that viewers in general usually watch in chronological order. When narrowed searches fail to find a fingerprint match, larger subsets up to and including the entire database may be searched for a match.
