Upon detection of such, the device emits a sound to notify others nearby of the being that was left within the vehicle. The sound is preferably different than a sound of a typical vehicle theft alarm system. In a preferred embodiment, determination that the operator has left the vehicle is by a loss of a signal from a personal transmitter that is attached to the operator's key ring or worn by the operator. After moving away from the vehicle by more than five feet, the signal from the personal transmitter decreases and initiates determination if a being remains within the vehicle.

Abstract: A system and method for tracking an article is described. The article may be baggage passing through an airport terminal or another venue. The system comprises a beacon associated with a baggage article, a plurality of relaying bridges, and a tracking service. Short-range radio signals including a beacon identifier and a beacon transmission power are emitted by the beacon associated with a baggage article and detected by a plurality of relaying bridges. The relaying bridges calculate a received signal strength indicator (RSSI), convert the short-range radio signal to a relay signal and transmit the relay signal including a unique relaying bridge identifier and RSSI information via a network. The tracking service receives data from the relay signal, attaches a time stamp to the received data, stores the time-stamped data, and determines from the stored data the time when the article arrives at a point of interest.

Abstract: A method for managing voltage event alarms in an electrical system includes processing electrical measurement data from energy-related signals captured by at least one intelligent electronic device (IED) of a plurality of IEDs to identify an anomalous voltage condition at a point of installation of a respective one of the plurality of IEDs in the electrical system. In embodiments, the anomalous voltage condition corresponds to a measured IED voltage being above one or more upper alarm thresholds or below one or more lower alarm thresholds. The method also includes determining if the electrical system is affected by the identified anomalous voltage condition. In response to determining that the electrical system is not affected by the identified anomalous voltage condition, at least one of the one or more upper alarm thresholds or at least one of the one or more lower alarm thresholds may be adjusted to the measured IED voltage.

Abstract: A remote three-way switch. The remote three-way switch includes an actuator configured to actuate a mechanical switch, such as a light switch, according to a signal received from a remote control in wireless communication with the actuator. The signal received directs the actuator to mechanically actuate the switch from an on position to an off position, or from the off position to the on position. The remote three-way switch is portable, easy to install and uninstall, and is configured to assist an individual with operating the switch from a distance. The remote three-way switch may also be configured to be permanently installed into a wall, such that it appears like an ordinary light switch after installation.
