  • Patent number: 10531760
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for grease separation during a cooking cycle of a food product in a cooking device. The methods and apparatuses perform grease separation by bifurcating the cooking cycle. In a first portion of the cooking cycle, in which the system is closed to ingress of the atmosphere by creating a water barrier in a collector box to seal a cooking chamber in which the food product is cooking, all cooking fluids exiting the cooking device pass into the water barrier. In a second portion of the cooking cycle, the collector box is emptied and the system is opened to capture all cooking fluids exiting the cooking device in the collector box. During the open portion, a grease/cooking fluid interface is monitored and the captured cooking fluids, containing a high percentage of grease, are pumped out of the collector box.

Abstract: The current invention is a Photorefractive Flash Device and System. It is a device that can be clipped to any portable computing device to illuminate the pupil in a way, that allows a proper pupillary reflex. On the backside of the device is a photoreceptor, on the frontside—facing the persons eyes are LEDs, centered around an opening where the lens of the camera looks through. A smartphone-app triggers the flashlight of the camera. The photoreceptor of the device senses this flash and triggers the six LEDs to flash sequentially within 200 milliseconds. 200 milliseconds is the time, the pupil needs to react. By staying under this 200 milliseconds, it can achieve high-quality pictures of the pupillary reflection, before the pupil contracts.

  • Patent number: 10531799
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relates to systems and methods for monitoring an intravenous (IV) line functionality of an IV device. In one embodiment, the system includes an IV catheter to be inserted into the vein of the living subject, at least one pressure sensor in fluid communication with the IV catheter to acquire peripheral venous signals; and a processing device. The processing device receives the peripheral venous signals from the pressure sensor, performs a spectral analysis on the peripheral venous signals to obtain a peripheral venous pressure frequency spectrum, and then performs a statistical analysis on amplitudes of peaks of the peripheral venous pressure frequency spectrum to determine an IV line functionality of the IV catheter in real time. When the IV line functionality indicates IV infiltration, the processing device may control the fluid controlling device to stop the fluid flow from the fluid source to the IV catheter.

Abstract: According to the present invention, accurate T2* and vascular images are concurrently acquired by acquiring a T2* image without a flow compensation and a T2* image with a flow compensation and subtracting the two images to reconstitute an image showing the flow phenomenon. Furthermore, an accurate T2* image can be acquired by using the readout gradient without the flow compensation and also the accurate T2* and vascular images can be concurrently acquired. The clinical judgment for blood flow rate of the blood vessel and the clinical judgment for acute stroke can be concurrently made, and so the present invention can be widely utilized in clinical practice.

  • Patent number: 10531808
Abstract: A wearable device configured to acquire and process electrocardiographic measurements, detect lead inversion and correct the acquired measurements for lead inversion is provided. In one example, the wearable device can detect lead inversion by first assessing whether the P-wave of a given electrocardiographic measurement has a negative amplitude, and if the P-wave is found to be negative, the device can determine if the magnitude of the R-wave is smaller than the maximum of the magnitudes of the S-wave and the Q-wave. In another example, the device can be put through an enrollment procedure in which electrocardiographic measurements are taken with the device being worn at known locations on the body. Once the enrollment procedure is completed, when the device is being used, any electrocardiographic results obtained can be compared against the measurements taken during the enrollment phase, and the location of the device on the body can be determined.
