  • Patent number: 10568557
Abstract: Methods and systems for analyzing involuntary eye movements of a human subject are disclosed. The systems may include means for presenting to the human subject visual content, possibly a video footage, in which some visual stimulus with whom the human subject has some form of relationship on a cognitive or sentiment level is embedded. The generation of the combined video footage is such that the stimulus is briefly presented and masked by the following video footage. The duration of the stimulus is made sufficiently long to invoke a neural response beyond a specified threshold that generates respective ocular effect, and sufficiently short to prevent a controlled eye movement by the human subject. Once measured, the involuntary eye movements are analyzed in view of the respective stimulating portions—e.g., their timing and context, to yield an analysis of the human subject relationship towards the objects presented in the visual stimulating portions.

  • Patent number: 10568561
Abstract: A system and method for the non-invasive measurement of tone, state of tension, biomechanical or viscoelastic properties of soft biological tissues includes a testing-end, an actuator arranged to apply a force to the testing-end, and a sensor to sense movement of the testing-end. A signal generating circuit supplies a control signal to the actuator so the biological tissues are subjected by the testing-end to a load, including means to adjust the signal provided by the signal generating circuit in accordance with the component of weight acting through the testing-end onto the biological tissue so that the load to which the biological tissue is subjected is constant. An impulse signal generating circuit supplies an impulse signal to the actuator so the biological tissue is subjected by the testing-end to a mechanical deformation. In use the soft biological tissue is subjected first to the constant load, and then to the impulse signal; and the consequent movement of the biological tissue is then registered.

  • Patent number: 10568573
Abstract: Users of head-mounted displays (HMDs) often experience nausea and other symptoms often referred to a “virtual reality sickness.” Various health and biometric sensors are employed to gather baseline sensor measurements. The HMD or a device associated with it can then generate a range or threshold such that any future sensor measurements that fall outside of the range or cross the threshold suggest a health concern for the user of the HMD. The HMD can also be coupled to a microphone, and natural language processing (NLP) is employed to detect negative words or noises made by the user that could also suggest a health concern for the user. After detecting the health concern, the HMD can warn its user, can shut off certain functions, can communicate with an external device, or can trigger an alarm.

  • Patent number: 10568594
Abstract: A cassette holder capable of being loaded with a radiation image capturing apparatus including a housing, a two-dimensional array of radiation detecting elements accommodated in the housing, and a connection port is shown. The cassette holder includes the following. Retention tabs hold the radiation image capturing apparatus. A connector is connectable to the connection port. The connector is magnetically fixed to the connection port. When the radiation image capturing apparatus is drawn to be detached from the cassette holder, the connector is movable with movement of the connection port. The movement of the connector moved with the connection port is regulated such that a shift distance of one end of the connector is smaller than a shift distance of the other end, and thereby the one end of the connector is detached from the connection port earlier than the other end.

Abstract: System and methods for automatically identifying anatomical regions in medical images are disclosed. A signature is computed from one or more images of a patient. The signature comprises a water equivalent diameter distribution generated from one or more images of the patient. A best matching atlas element is identified from an atlas. The atlas includes a group of atlas elements, each atlas element includes landmarks associated with a set of image data, and a signature associated with the set of image data. The signature of the best matching atlas element matches the signature of the patient the best among the atlas. Landmarks of the best matching atlas element are projected onto an image of the patient. The method can be used on its own for anatomy localization or used in conjunction with another anatomy localization method to correct the result of another method.
