Abstract: A system, including a device and method, for securing a covering, such as a coverlet, quilt, duvet or comforter to a bed, and a kit and method for applying the system to an existing bed and covering. A sleeve encircles the mattress and includes an engagement structure on its lower surface. The covering includes a tab which fits beneath the mattress and its support structure and further includes a second engagement structure which faces upwardly to engage the engagement structure on the sleeve. A kit includes just a sleeve and a tab with a structure for engagement to a covering.

Abstract: A mattress has a perimeter rail having a head end, a foot end, and two sides, each having an inner surface, and at least two substantially parallel rectilinear sections. Each section comprises an array of springs whose tension is selected to provide a predetermined firmness for that section. Each adjacent pair of sections is urged into a spaced-apart relationship by a spacing means, where each spacing means comprises a flexible spacer. The flexible spacer restricts or substantially eliminates the translation of movements between the sections of the mattress, while avoiding the use of uncomfortable separation means.

In one embodiment the phase changeable component includes two dimensional lattices separated from each other and a spring element extending between the lattices. The firmness can be made spatially and/or temporally uniform or nonuniform, and can be controlled based on one or more sensed parameters.

The nonwoven fabric is a double-calendered, 80/20 flame-resistant rayon/polyester blend needled with a minimum of 190 punches per cm2 and with increased tensile strength.

Abstract: Presented is improved shoulder straps for a baby carrier having a first layer of fabric with a top surface, a bottom surface, a distal end, a proximal end, and two side ends, and a second layer of fabric with a top surface, a bottom surface, a distal end, a proximal end, and two side ends. The first and second layers of fabric embodies a padding disposed therebetween. The first layer of fabric is configured to form a fastener attachment strap that engages to a fastener. The attachment strap is then looped back forming a continuous loop and laid between the padding and the first layer of fabric. The attachment strap is threaded through the shoulder strap and stitched back at the distal ends. The second layer of fabric is configured to take a form a flap at its proximal end and essentially increases aesthetic look of the shoulder strap.

The apparatus can be 5 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 2 feet deep. The upright supports lift the dual rail structure above the ground. The adjustable elastic cords can be connected to and suspended from the dual rail structure using wheels, which can traverse the dual rail structure. The child can be placed so that the child can walk, swing, and/or jump. The seat can rotate 360° with respect to the dual rail structure, enabling the child to change direction of motion within the dual rail structure. The entire apparatus can be collapsed using joints, which enable the bars of the apparatus to fold and/or disconnect for compact packing and easy transport.

The bearing includes a positioning element that is disposed in the slot and in the slot extension. The positioning element is movable within the slot and the slot extension such that the bearing is movable along the major axis to permit axial adjustment of a position of the bearing relative to the plenum housing and the bearing is immovable rotationally relative to the plenum housing.

Abstract: An improved display bar assembly, for the cantilever support of product dispensing trays. A rectangular display bar, is supported by spaced apart, flat mounting brackets on which mounting hooks are located in the primary plane of the bracket, and openings for reception of the display bar are offset axially inward from that plane enabling the recessed accommodation of flanged retaining plugs at opposite ends of the bar. The flanges of the retaining plugs have axially extending abutment walls which overlap outer walls of the display bar and engage offset surfaces of the bracket. The abutment walls overlap display bar walls on two opposing sides only, enabling the retaining plugs to be molded with transverse friction fins. This in turn enables the use of readily available, inexpensive grades of light gauge (e.g., 16 gauge) steel tubing of greater height than width (e.g., 1×1.5 inch) for the display bars.

Abstract: A shopping bin which mounts crosswise on a shopping cart and is slidable onto the conveyor belt of a supermarket check stand. The bin mechanism holds the bottom of the bin in place and causes a door at the front of the bin to open as the conveyor belt moves the rest of the bin forward until the bottom of the bin has been mostly extracted, thus allowing the check stand conveyor to completely vacate the contents of the bin and send them to the checker and the item scanner.

Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a Point Of Sale (“POS”) system. The methods comprise: performing operations by the POS system to machine learn at least information about a condition of an article to be purchased using at least one of imaging, sensing, and short range communications; determining by the POS system if the article is accepted for purchase based at least on the machine learned information about the condition of the article; and completing a purchase transaction by the POS system if a determination is made that the article is accepted for purchase. The POS system may also perform operations to deactivate a security tag coupled to the article or actuate a detachment mechanism of the security tag, if the article was successfully purchased during the purchase transaction.

Abstract: A mounting device is provided for hanging articles on a wall or other mounting surface. The disclosed mounting device includes a bracket having a raised center portion arranged between two side portions formed integral and contiguous with the raised center portion, and a fastener having a flattened head and a shaft extending therefrom. The raised center portion of the bracket includes a first pair of opposing sidewalls, and the flattened head of the fastener includes a second pair of opposing sidewalls. When the flattened head of the fastener is slidably engaged with the raised center portion of the bracket, each of the second pair of opposing sidewalls is arranged adjacent and parallel to a respective one of the first pair of opposing sidewalls. This prevents substantial rotational movement of the bracket around the fastener to ensure that the wall-mounted article remains at a desired location and orientation on the wall.

Abstract: A heated pillowcase assembly for keeping a user warm without a blanket includes a pillowcase that has a length of at least 50.0 inches and a width of at least 20.0 inches. A body pillow can be positioned in the pillowcase such that the pillowcase rests against a user when the user lies against the body pillow. A heating unit is coupled to the pillowcase and the heating unit is in thermal communication with the pillowcase. The heating unit heats the pillowcase when the heating unit is turned on to keep the user warm when the user lies against the body pillow.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a residential wall penetrating mailbox with enhanced box handling capability, openable by barcode scanning, and openable from either inside or outside a home. A body which is generally column shaped has front and rear doors which open at the top and hinge near the bottom and which have interleaved fingers or members extending from the bottom ends into the interior space of the mailbox. A box tray sits on the interleaved fingers. When either door is opened the fingers of that door lift the box tray upward and out of the box on that side. Thus, a delivery person may access a box from outside the home, while the homeowner may do the same without leaving the safety of the home interior. In addition, an elastic cord and carefully slanted slots on side panels of the front door allow easy retention of a box even further up the front door.

Abstract: A dispensing device for single-use articles is provided. In certain embodiments, the dispensing device comprises a wall-mounted unit or fixture that is capable of holding at least different articles and providing those articles to a user. Packaging devices for use and cooperation with the dispensing device are further provided, and various systems for storing and dispensing articles are provided.
