Abstract: Provided is a fastener stringer including a row of metal elements having a plating film formed with improved thickness uniformity without waste, even if the elements are not electrically connected to each other in advance. For each of ten adjacent metal elements of the fastener stinger, 0.6?D1/A1?2.0 is satisfied in which A1 represents an average value of thickness of the plating film for the ten metal elements at element center on either one main surface side of the fastener tape, and D1 represents thickness of the plating film for each of the metal elements at the element center on the one main surface side of the fastener tape.

Abstract: Provided is a slide fastener-attached product in which an element member, is fixed to an element attaching edge portion of a fastener attached member with a sewn portion for fixing. The sewn portion for fixing pierces the element attaching edge portion, and a thread forming the sewn portion for fixing holds a connecting member. A position that the sewn portion for fixing pierces the element attaching edge portion is apart from an element to be inside of the element attaching edge portion. Thereby, weight reduction and improvement in flexibility of the slide fastener-attached product can be achieved.

Abstract: New forms of fasteners are disclosed. In some embodiments, some such fasteners include a new form of zipper with magnetic actuation, initiated by bringing one end of a linear array of magnets into closer proximity with another end of a linear array of magnets. In some embodiments, these fasteners include elastic subunits incorporated in a common semi-flexible substrate. The techniques of the invention are applicable to a wide variety of applications, incorporating many different materials. For example, in some contexts, some embodiments allow rapid closing of articles, such as gym bags or sports apparel, with minimum effort, and leading to an extraordinary custom-fit to a user's preferences.

The shaft is a rigid cylinder with a plurality of apertures covered by a plurality of windows through which a plurality of lights may provide illumination. The plurality of lights may be white, yellow, or red LEDs mounted onto one or more circuit boards located within the shaft. The white lights may provide illumination, the yellow lights may provide cautionary warnings, and the red light may indicate danger or distress. The lights may be illuminated individually or in groups through user activation of an operator control located on the handle. The handle provides a grasping point for the cane and encloses one or more batteries, the operator control, and an audible panic alarm.

In an embodiment, a method for calibrating a camera includes recording a digital image of a piece of calibration information on a fibre from a plurality of fibres from natural hair or fibres that resemble natural hair by employing a camera. The fibre is identified in the digital image by employing a marker. A plurality of colour values are determined for a plurality of reference colours as the calibration information on the fibre in the digital image, wherein a reference colour value is assigned to each reference colour.
