Publication number: 20200094201Abstract: A rapid and continuous separator or equilibrator to separate a gas from a liquid includes a venturi and injector, a mixer and a free overfall stream to separate a gas from a liquid. The injector introduces a carrier medium into the liquid which provides a reservoir for the gas to diffuse into as the liquid and carrier make a single transit through the apparatus. Publication number: 20200094211Abstract: A Fluid Catalytic Cracking process converts heavy crude oil fractions into lighter hydrocarbon products at high temperature and moderate pressure in the presence of a catalyst. During this process, catalyst particles stay entrained in the descending gas stream. The sample treatment device can include a bore comprising at least one chamber, wherein the at least one chamber, or multiple chambers, is formed by using partitions to define the chamber inside the device bore. The chambers can be formed by having a single shaft that is adapted to be moved longitudinally through the bore of the device, the shaft having sealing elements formed on or as part of the shaft, wherein the sealing elements create a seal with the interior bore wall, wherein the separate chambers defined by the interior bore wall and the sealing elements are formed by the spaces between the sealing elements. The chambers of the sample treatment device disclosed herein can be suitable for performing mixing, chemical reaction, heating, cooling, separation and/or washing steps using a simple to manufacture device, where one or all of the steps can be conducted for a desired or predetermined time.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2018Publication date: March 26, 2020Inventors: Garry Chambers, Alastair M.
