Abstract: The present invention relates to analyte detection devices and methods of using such devices to detect minute quantities of a target analyte in a sample. In particular, the invention provides a method of detecting a target analyte in a sample comprising mixing the sample with a first detection conjugate and a second detection conjugate in solution, wherein the first and second detection conjugates comprise metallic nanostructures coupled to binding partners that are capable of specifically binding to the target analyte if present in the sample to form a complex between the first detection conjugate, the analyte, and the second detection conjugate, wherein a change in an optical signal upon complex formation indicates the presence of the target analyte in the sample. Methods of preparing nanostructures and nanoalloys, as well as nanostructures and nanoalloys conjugated to binding partners, are also described.

Abstract: A line-mounted device is used to provide power system signals to a device for detecting a fault and calculating a fault location using a traveling wave launched thereby. Current at the line-mounted device is used to separate incident and reflected traveling waves at a terminal. Times and polarities of traveling waves passing the line-mounted device and the terminal are compared to determine if the fault is located between the terminal and line-mounted device or at a location beyond the terminal or line-mounted device. Voltage of the traveling wave may be calculated using currents from the line-mounted device.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a power stage. The power stage includes a metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) and a driver IC coupled to the MOSFET. The driver IC is configured to switch the MOSFET to an ON-state so that MOSFET conducts a current. The driver IC includes a current monitor circuit that outputs a current monitor signal, which corresponds to the current through the MOSFET when it is in the ON-state. The current monitor signal includes an error caused by a temperature difference between the MOSFET and the driver IC. As a result, the driver IC further includes a compensation circuit that is configured to determine a thermal gradient across the driver IC, and based on the thermal gradient, adjust the current monitor circuit to reduce the error.

Abstract: A self-check system and a method thereof are disclosed. In the self-check system, a memory stores a safety check program, a main application program and a predetermined checksum data. The safety check program include a circuit check program, a watchdog circuit reset program and a checksum check program. When a chip system is powered on, a processing unit executes the main application program, and then executes an interrupt call to generate an interrupt, so as to execute the safety check program and the circuit check program to check a to-be-checked circuit. The processing unit also executes the watchdog circuit reset program to reset a counting value of a watchdog circuit. The processing unit also executes the checksum check program to calculate a checksum data of the first safety check program, and reset the chip system when the calculated checksum data is not equal to the predetermined checksum data.

Abstract: In a status detection system, a data acquisition circuit monitors statuses of a battery to generate status data. A storage medium stores a set of lookup tables. A lookup table of the lookup tables includes a set of datasets corresponding to a set of time frames. Each dataset includes digital values of parameters of the battery obtained in a corresponding time frame of the time frames. A controller receives the status data and updates the lookup tables based on the status data. The controller also obtains a current dataset of the parameters based on the status data, searches the lookup table for a previous dataset that matches the current dataset, compares a current value of a parameter in the current dataset with a previous value of the parameter in the previous dataset, and determines whether a potential fault is present in the battery based on a result of the comparison.
