In this way, the invention eliminates currency discrepancy during resource exchange and provides a dynamic currency conversion in real-time for interactions, via a closed loop platform. Using closed loop processing, the invention verifies and authorizes resource transfers, bypassing current currency conversion processing.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing fraud protection and transaction tracing for gift card accounts through use of a public blockchain ledger. Digital gift cards are associated with tokens which are passed between user accounts. The users do not obtain direct access to the debit codes assigned to the gift cards and are instead provided with variable authentication codes for use in merchant purchases. The variable authentication code is used by a merchant to obtain a reference to an actual debit code held by a web server. Numerous types of transactions are published to the blockchain ledger including initial purchases, reserving/claiming of debit codes, transfers of tokens between accounts, and depleting of gift card value associated with a token. Transactions published to the blockchain occur substantially simultaneously with a merchant purchase such that users may look up gift card values at any time to be assured each gift card is valid.

One exemplary method includes, for a network transaction, receiving, at a card device, an authentication command from an issuer of a payment account associated with the card device. A user of the card device is instructed, at an indicator of the card device, to provide a biometric for use in authenticating the user. Biometric data from the user is captured at biometric sensor of the card device, when the user provides the biometric, and the captured biometric data is compared with reference biometric data stored in a memory of the card device. The card device then returns a command reply to the issuer, where the command reply includes an authentication result based on the comparison, thereby permitting the issuer to employ the authentication result of the user in connection with the network transaction.

Abstract: Example embodiments provide systems and methods for increasing the cryptographic strength of an encryption or message-authentication-code-(MAC) generation technique. According to some embodiments, a MAC may be constructed around a shared secret (such as a random initialization number), thereby increasing strength of the MAC against brute force attacks based on the size of the shared secret. The MAC may be combined with randomized data, and may also be encrypted to further bolster the strength of the code. These elements (shared secret, MAC algorithm, and encryption algorithm) may be employed in various combinations and to varying degrees, depending on the application and desired level of security. At each stage, the cryptographic construct operates on the cyptographically modified data from the previous stage. Services within a peer-to-peer network can share a distributed secure ledger. This distributed secure ledger can comprise information associated contact information, such as a phone number, with a user and indicate its status as activated or deactivated. Once any member of the peer-to-peer network, such a telecommunications service provider, detects a change, e.g., a user obtaining a new cellphone number or relinquishing an old one, that peer can update the secure distributed ledger and notify the other members of the peer-to-peer network. In this way, all members can be informed and updated as the change occurs and can then take action to locally associate or disassociate that user with that contact information, archive any past customer records, etc.

Embodiments receive a regression based demand algorithm for the item that includes the set of features as regression variables and split the data points into a training set and a testing set. Embodiments assign each of the features of the set of features into one of a plurality of regularization categories and assign a penalty parameter to each of the features subject to regularization. Embodiments train the demand algorithm using the training set, the penalty parameters and the features to generate a trained demand model. Embodiments evaluate the trained demand model using the testing set to determine an early drop metric and repeat the assigning each of the features, the assigning the penalty parameter, the training the demand algorithm and the evaluating the trained demand model until the early drop metric meets a threshold.
