Abstract: A dispensing system includes a device having a body extending along a longitudinal axis between opposite proximal and distal ends. The body includes a proximal chamber, a distal chamber and a wall between the chambers. The body includes a first port in communication with the proximal chamber and a second port in communication with the distal chamber. A shaft is movably positioned within the body. The shaft extending through the wall and comprising a proximal plunger positioned within the proximal chamber and a distal plunger positioned within the distal chamber. Wherein pressure introduced through an opening in the proximal end moves the shaft such that the proximal plunger moves a material within the proximal chamber out of the first port and the distal plunger moves a material within the distal chamber out of the second port. Kits and methods of use are disclosed.

Abstract: A needle guidance assembly for constraining and guiding an interventional needle is provided. The needle guidance assembly includes a needle guide having opposing lever arms. Jaws of the opposing lever arms form a guide bore configured to receive an interventional needle and orient the needle with respect to, for example, an imaging probe. Constraining the needle within the imaging field of the probe allows for real-time monitoring during insertion of the interventional needle into patient tissue. In addition, the needle guidance assembly is angularly positionable relative to the image field to allow advancement of the needle to a target site within the imaging field.

In particular, an optical sensor located within an endoscopic camera may register the momentary change in the optical characteristics reflected from a tissue surface and in turn transmit the information to a medical image processing system which can also receive patient heart rate data and display relevant anomalies. Changes in various spectral components and the speed at which they change in relation to a source of stimulus (heartbeat, etc.) may indicate the arrival of blood, contrast agents or oxygen absorption. Combinations of these may indicate various states of differing disease or margins of tumors, and so forth. Also, changes in temperatures and the speed of change may indicate subsurface anomalies.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for generating an image of corrected teeth. The apparatus includes: a control unit configured to generate dental curves representative of dental arches after the completion of correction from an image of teeth, and to generate an image of corrected virtual teeth by aligning the locations of the teeth with the dental curves; and an input/output unit configured to provide the image of corrected virtual teeth via a screen. The control unit is further configured to model the dental curves with functions corresponding to sets of teeth.

Abstract: A prescription management system is used by an orthodontic or dental lab and a plurality of prescribing users who send prescriptions for customized orthodontic or dental appliances to the lab. The prescriptions are stored in a database selectively accessible by the lab and plurality of prescribing users. A digital workspace is provided in the system in which the lab or prescribing users may create designs for the customized appliances. The designs of the appliances are stored in the database. A tracking record of fabrication of the appliances is stored in the database. A plurality of billings are simultaneously generated in response to the submissions and storage of the prescriptions, the designs of the customized appliances and the fabrication of the designed customized appliances.

Abstract: Inventions herein include at least mostly optically clear orthodontic braces and feet orthotics (collectively referred to as “appliances”) with backscatter based sensors. These two categories of appliances share a common property requiring that the given appliance must be correctly custom manufactured to fit a patient's own particular geometry and dimensions of their teeth and/or feet in order to perform as intended. Incorporating such appliances with backscatter based sensors enables simple, easy, fast, efficient, and cost effective measurements, in real-time or near real-time, of stresses, forces, structural changes, and/or the like in the given appliance; which in turn can aid in determining if adjustments or re-manufacture of the appliance may be needed or desired; and/or wherein such measurements may aid in evaluating performance of the given appliance. In some embodiments, such measurements may also be taken remotely away from a practitioner; and then communicated to a remotely located practitioner.
