  • Patent number: 10668501
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for texturing surfaces providing the latter with superhydrophobic, superoleophobic, superhydrophilic or even superoleophilic properties. This process comprises i) a step of texturing the surface (via the deposition of nanoparticles of different sizes); ii) a step of curing the surface thus textured (with a curing agent); and, optionally, iii) a step of modifying the properties of the surface with perfluorinated (and therefore hydrophobic) molecules. This process is suitable, inter alia, for treating transparent and/or heat-sensitive materials and surfaces. Specifically, none of the steps of the process use a temperature higher than 100° C. Thus, the process of the invention is particularly suitable for treating transparent surfaces composed of non-mineral materials, such as polycarbonate for example, as it will affect neither their transparency nor their optical properties.

  • Patent number: 10668502
Abstract: Polymeric coatings and methods of forming polymeric coatings are described. In a method of forming a polymeric coating a first layer is deposited on a substrate. The first layer includes at least one highly soluble diamine component. A second layer is formed on the substrate to contact the first layer. The second layer includes paraformaldehyde and an aromatic diamine including two primary amine groups. Once formed, the first and second layers are heated. Heating causes the components of the first and second layers to cure. For example, the paraformaldehyde from the second layer diffuses into the first layer and reacts via hemiaminal-type chemistry with the high soluble diamine component. The coatings may be substantially homogenous or comprise a compositional gradient in thickness or along the substrate plane depending on deposition methods and other processing parameters.

  • Patent number: 10668504
Abstract: An individualization station has a supply deck for supplying flat goods to a goods processing apparatus following in the transport path in the transport direction x of a Cartesian coordinate system, with openings in the supply deck for a drum in an individualization region, and with individualization assembly as well as with a contact pressure box. The contact pressure box is movable in the z-direction, and has a linkage that is pivotable at a downstream end. An individualization assembly carrier forms an L-shape at an upstream end of the linkage that is pivotable in the contact pressure box. A stop side of the undeflected individualization assembly carrier is aligned parallel to the y/z-plane and extends counter to a y-direction. The individualization assembly carrier can be deflected above the supply deck at a variable distance corresponding to the thickness of the flat good to be individualized, and is adjustable in the y-direction and counter thereto by an adjustment assembly.

  • Patent number: 10668516
Abstract: A sheet metal material is stamped into a formed shape having a side wall between a central portion and a flange portion. The central portion is held between an upper pad and a die, and the flange portion is held between an upper binder and a lower binder. A post-stamping compression force is applied along a length of the side wall of the formed shape. For example, application of the post-stamping compression force includes moving the lower binder relatively toward the upper pad, such as by delaying a return of the upper pad during a portion of a return of the lower binder. During application of the post-stamping compression force, an outward force is applied against an inner surface of the side wall to insure any bowing of the side wall is in an outward direction.
