Publication number: 20200205771Abstract: Cardiac Output (CO) has traditionally been difficult, dangerous, and expensive to obtain. Surrogate measures such as pulse rate and blood pressure have therefore been used to permit an estimate of CO. MEMS technology, evolutionary computation, and time-frequency signal analysis techniques provide a technology to non-invasively estimate CO, based on precordial (chest wall) motions. The technology detects a ventricular contraction time point, and stroke volume, from chest wall motion measurements. As CO is the product of heart rate and stroke volume, these algorithms permit continuous, beat to beat CO assessment. Nontraditional Wavelet analysis can be used to extract features from chest acceleration. A learning tool is preferable to define the packets which best correlate to contraction time and stroke volume.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2020Publication date: July 2, 2020Inventors: Ohad Barsimantov, Kenneth McLeod, J. Publication number: 20200205773Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system for imaging soft tissue through bone matter of a subject. The imaging system transmits ultrasound waves via an ultrasound probe toward the subject's bone material at a plurality of incidence angles so that ultrasound waves may pass through and reflect back through bone as both longitudinal and shear waves, which are all used in combination for imaging. The system includes a switch to connect the transducer elements to a commercially available ultrasound driving system, which allow the imaging system to utilize an ultrasound driving system which has fewer electrical transmit/receive channels than the ultrasound probe. The host controller processes the received ultrasound signals to form an image of the subject's soft tissue through matter. The image reconstruction method, along with tracking information, allows the creation of whole-brain two-dimensional, 2D orthogonal, or three-dimensional images, as well as time lapse four-dimensional or tomographical ultrasound images.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2019Publication date: July 2, 2020Inventors: Kullervo Hynynen, Anna Kristoffersen, Tyler Portelli
