The beam path extends a distance from the surface to the focal point. The index is determined in response to the distances from the surface to the targeted focal point and from the surface to the actual focal point, which corresponds to a location of a peak intensity of an optical interference signal of the focused light within the lens. The determined refractive index is mapped to a region in the lens, and may be used to generate a gradient index profile of the lens to more accurately place laser beam pulses for incisions.

Abstract: An electrocardiogram waveform measurement system or the like is proposed, configured to be suitable for measuring an electrocardiogram waveform with high precision using multiple electrodes provided to an article of clothing. A measurement unit performs measurement in a state in which multiple fabric electrodes are grouped into multiple channels. A signal measured by the electrodes for each channel is evaluated in a two-dimensional manner based on the number of times an R wave is detected by an R wave processing unit in a predetermined period of time and a degree of data concentration in a dynamic range acquired by a degree-of-concentration calculation unit. A channel selection unit selects the optimum channel.

Abstract: Methods of processing electrocardiogram (ECG) data, and related systems, generate a beat-to-beat HR scatter plot/display for evaluation by a medical professional for diagnosis of cardiac irregularities. A method of processing ECG data includes processing ECG data recorded for a patient over a monitored time period to identify beat-to-beat intervals. Heart rates are calculated for the beat-to-beat intervals. The calculated heart rates include a respective heart rate for each of the beat-to-beat intervals. The calculated heart rates are displayed and/or plotted for an output period of time.

Abstract: A method and system provides for headgear usable for electrophysiological data collection and analysis and neurostimulation/neuromodulation or brain computer interface for clinical, peak performance, or neurogaming and neuromodulation applications. The headgear utilizes dry sensor technology as well as connection points for adjustable placement of the bi-directional sensors for the recoding of electrophysiology from the user and delivery of current to the sensors intended to improve or alter electrophysiology parameters. The headgear allows for recording electrophysiological data and biofeedback directly to the patient via the sensors, as well as provide low intensity current or electromagnetic field to the user. The headgear can further include auditory, visual components for immersive neurogaming. The headgear may further communication with local or network processing devices based on neurofeedback and biofeedback and immersive environment experience with balance and movement sensor data input.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to guiding medical care based on detected gastric function. For example, gastric acid stimulant or suppressant is administered, and then a change in the gastric juice H+ concentration is measured. This change is compared to a guidance H+ concentration differential indicative of relatively healthy gastric function. Medical care is guided based on a relatively healthy gastric function if the measured H+ concentration differential is equal to or exceeds the guidance H+ concentration differential, while medical care is guided based on a relatively unhealthy gastric function if the measured H+ concentration differential is less than the guidance H+ concentration differential. Disclosed embodiments implementing this procedure include, but are not limited to, methods, apparatus, processors, computer programs, and computer-readable mediums.

Abstract: Devices and systems provide methods of detecting a heart failure condition of a patient that may be based on one or more respiratory parameters of a patient. In an example embodiment, a monitoring device determines one or more heart failure condition indicators based on a measure of the patient respiratory airflow and/or a measure of treatment pressure. Respiratory parameters such as respiration rate, hypopneas, apneas, Cheyne-Stokes breathing patterns or apnea-hypopnea counts may be compared to thresholds that are selected to represent a change in the condition of a heart failure patient such as an onset of a decompensation event. Results of the comparisons may trigger a pressure treatment change and/or one or more warnings or messages to notify a patient or physician of a pending change to the patient's heart failure condition so that the patient may more immediately seek medical attention to treat the heart failure condition.
