  • Patent number: 10758731
Abstract: An external device transfers a key to an implantable medical device over a proximity communication and then establishes a first far field communication session with the implantable medical device where the key is used for the first communication session. This first communication session may occur before implantation while the implantable medical device is positioned outside of the sterile field so that using a proximity communication is easily achieved. Once the implantable medical device is passed into the sterile field for implantation, the external device may then establish a second far field communication session with the implantable medical device where the last key that was used for the first communication session is again used for the second communication session which avoids the need for another proximity communication to occur within the sterile field.

Abstract: Brain dysfunction can be treated by restructuring neural pathways in the brain. A desired area in the brain to form a new neural pathway is selected. The area receives a sequential combination of (1) transcranial photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) including a series of pulses having a frequency matched to a target brain wave and (2) another transcranial stimulation (e.g., transcranial direct current electrical stimulation and/or transcranial magnetic stimulation). The different stimulation mechanisms ensure that neuroplasticity occurs to restructure a neural pathway that is dysfunctional in nature to a new neural pathway that conducts normally.

  • Patent number: 10758755
Abstract: An electric outlet fire detection and prevention system may comprise a temperature sensor and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) sensor. A processor within the system may monitor the measurements of the temperature and EMI sensors to determine that a fire has developed in an electric outlet box. The processor may then actuate a triggering mechanism in a cartridge containing fire extinguishing material such that the fire extinguishing material is dispersed in the outlet box. The fire extinguishing material may extinguish a developing fire and prevent the fire from spreading further. The processor may also be coupled with a server, which is configured to analyze measurements of the temperature and the EMI sensors and generate a building profile. When the server determines that any measurements deviate from the building profile, the server may instruct the processor to actuate the triggering mechanism and/or notify an electronic device associated with the building.

  • Patent number: 10758766
Abstract: A staged resistance training device is described. When performing an exercise motion, normal human joint mechanics often mean less effort is needed in the later stages of a resistance exercise motion than at the beginning of the motion. The staged resistance training device is configured to allow a user, such as a weightlifter using a training machine having a series of resistive elements, to perform an exercise repetition with staged resistance forces experienced during the repetition. A range of motion of the exercised body part is opposed during a first stage of the motion by an initial resistance, transitioning to a second, greater resistance in a later second stage of the exercise motion. The staged resistance training device provides a means wherein the user can apply increased resistance to overcome an increasing mechanical advantage later during an exercise motion, versus at the motion's beginning.
