The configuration prevents the anti-fog solution from spilling out of the system and is designed to also be used as a holder for the surgical scope, protecting the distal lens from impact with a shock absorbent outer shell, prior to, during, and after a medical procedure.

Abstract: The present invention describes an improved surgical mouth gag for the exposure of the palatal and oropharyngeal region of a patient comprising a frame (2) adapted to be arranged in use around the mouth of the patient and a tongue depressor system (21, 30) insertable in the oral cavity of the patient and movable with respect to the frame (2), the tongue depressor blade (21, 30) comprising two elements articulated to each other, able to mobilise fully in a graduated way the entire tongue base both in the caudal and posterior-anterior direction. The metal arch (2) supports and anchors the aforesaid tongue depressor system, by resting on the upper premolar and molar teeth (respecting the incisors) and acts as an anterior window adapted to guarantee both optimal exposure of the palatal structures and of the isthmus of the fauces and to facilitate palatal and oropharyngeal surgery in general and that of obstructive sleep disorders in particular.

Abstract: A disposable video laryngoscope includes a novel internal liquid jet spray. This laryngoscope is designed so that the user may utilize either the video mode in which the image is displayed on an external screen, or the device may be used in the same manner as a direct laryngoscope. If the device is used in video mode, a Light Emitting Diode (LED) is placed within a camera housing so as to prevent or reduce fogging of the lens. The device includes an internal spray mechanism that may receive liquid through a luer-connection interface such as is used with syringes or IV tubing systems and that directs a spray onto a fogged or occluded lens to restore vision.

Abstract: The invention relates to an artificial intelligence eye disease screening service method and a system, in which the method includes acquiring the ophthalmic examination data of a user, in which the ophthalmic examination data is obtained by a technician in a primary hospital through an ophthalmic examination on the user; performing the artificial intelligence screening on the ophthalmic examination data to obtain a screening result; determining whether the screening result is normal or not; generating an ophthalmic examination report if the screening result is normal; and uploading the ophthalmic examination data to ophthalmologists of the superior hospitals for review and generating an ophthalmic examination report according to the review if the screening result is abnormal. The invention can partly balance the ophthalmic resources between collaborative primary hospitals and superior hospitals, and achieve a large-scale and highly efficient eye disease screening with wide coverage.

Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and a computer-readable storage medium having stored therein a program that can determine keratoconus with a simple configuration so as to allow the apparatus and the program to be distributed widely and contribute to early diagnosis of keratoconus. In a keratometer as a keratoconus determination apparatus, a prediction model for keratoconus is stored in a memory. The prediction model is a logistic regression model in which three parameters that are a steep meridian refractive power, a flat meridian refractive power, and a value indicating whether or not a subject eye has a with-the-rule astigmatism, are independent variables, and a probability of keratoconus is a dependent variable. A control unit substitutes the three parameter values into the prediction model, to obtain a probability of keratoconus. When the probability is greater than a cutoff value, the subject eye is determined to be suspected of having keratoconus.
