Abstract: Systems and methods for sonifying electrical signals obtained from a living subject, particularly EEG signals, are disclosed. A time-domain signal representing the activity of an organ is obtained. A voltage of the time-domain signal over a time block is determined. An acoustic signal based on the time-domain signal over the time block is produced. The acoustic signal comprises one or more audibly discernible variations representative of the activity of the organ. If the determined voltage is over a threshold voltage, the time-domain signal is squelched over at least a portion of the time-block as the acoustic signal is produced. The time-domain signal can be squelched by ramping down the signal as an input to produce the acoustic signal. The frequency spectrum of the acoustic signal can also be adjusted as it is produced, such as by flattening the signal and/or attenuating high frequencies along the frequency spectrum of the signal.

Abstract: A method for placing electrodes on a patient uses a mobile device with built-in camera to generate a customized, virtual electrode template for neurological monitoring. The camera captures a digital image of the patient and is programmed to find landmarks, use analysis, and respond to manual input for electrode locations and generate a virtual electrode template. Facial recognition and edge detection software determines the outline of the patient's head when in the field of view of the camera monitor. The user then may assist the camera in identifying landmarks on the patient's head, such as the nasion, the inion, and the pre-auricular points, to facilitate generation of the virtual electrode template on the image in the camera's viewfinder, which template moves and rotates with the patient. Abstract: Conventionally, a neuronal controller located inside the central nervous system governing the maintenance of the upright posture of the human body is designed from a control system perspective using proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controllers, wherein human postural sway is modeled either along a sagittal plan or along a frontal plane separately resulting in limited insights on intricacies of a governing neuronal controller. Also, existing neuronal controllers using a reinforcement learning (RL) paradigm are based on complex actor-critic on-policy algorithms. Analyzing human postural sway is critical to detect markers for progression of balance impairments. Abstract: In a case in which an imaging mode continuously acquiring a plurality of energy subtraction images is performed, a radiation source control unit of a control device performs radiation source control for performing a one-shot imaging operation, in which only one of first radiation and second radiation is emitted, at least once for one two-shot imaging operation in which the first radiation and the second radiation are continuously emitted. In a case in which the imaging mode is performed, a detector control unit performs detector control to direct a radiation detector to output a first radiographic image based on the first radiation and a second radiographic image based on the second radiation.

Abstract: An acquisition unit of a console acquires a first radiographic image and a second radiographic image. The first radiographic image and the second radiographic image are radiographic images which are output from a radiation detector by directing a radiation source to emit first radiation and second radiation in order to perform a moving image capture mode that continuously acquires a radiographic image required for the display of a moving image according to a preset frame interval. A receiving unit receives a request signal to request the generation of an energy subtraction image referred to for diagnosis. A generation unit generates the energy subtraction image in a case in which the receiving unit receives the request signal.

Abstract: An abnormal site detection unit detects an abnormal site included in a medical image acquired based on radiation transmitted through a subject. A position specifying unit generates positional information for specifying a position of the abnormal site based on a feature point of the subject included in the medical image in a case where the abnormal site is detected in the medical image. An information generation unit generates additional imaging instruction information, including information that indicates a type of additional imaging based on the abnormal site and information that indicates the position of the abnormal site based on the positional information, for instructing at least one additional imaging.
