Abstract: A method for increasing accuracy of positioning an X-ray device relative to an examination subject using a camera system includes recording a first data set, acquiring original positioning information pertaining to the X-ray device and specifying a target position of the X-ray device relative to the original position. The X-ray device is positioned out of the original position into a first approach position using the original positioning information, and a second data set is recorded. A deviation between the target position and the first approach position is determined by a reconciliation between the first data set and the second data set. The X-ray device is positioned out of the first approach position into a second approach position using the determined deviation.

Abstract: An ultrasound scanning guidance method includes acquiring an image by an ultrasound probe of a target organ during an ultrasound scanning procedure. The acquired image corresponds to a pose of the target organ in an acquired scan plane. The method further includes processing the image by a guidance unit to determine an anatomical context around the target organ based on the acquired image. The processing the image also includes determining a relative location of the acquired scan plane with reference to a standard scan plane based on the pose of the target organ and the anatomical context. The processing further includes generating scanning guidance based on the relative location of the acquired scan plane. The scanning guidance includes information to move the probe towards a standard pose of the target organ. The method also includes presenting the scanning guidance by an output device for aiding continuance of the scanning procedure.

Abstract: A staple cartridge for use with a stapling device that has an actuator that is selectively actuatable in an axial direction and an anvil portion that is selectively movable between open and closed positions is disclosed. Various embodiments of the present invention include a cartridge body that movably supports first and second staple drivers. The staple drivers each support a staple thereon and serve to drive the staples into forming contact with the anvil upon actuation by the actuator. The various embodiments of the present invention enable the final formed heights of the staples to be varied so as to apply various clamping forces and pressures to soft tissue captured within the staples. In at least one embodiment, the staples can include crowns formed thereon which can be utilized to adjust or control the clamping force and/or pressure applied by the staples.
