Abstract: A meeting insight computing system includes a meeting evaluation machine configured to collect quality parameters from meeting quality monitoring devices. The quality parameters each quantify meeting conditions during one or more previously-elapsed meetings and are usable to determine an overall quality score for each of the one or more previously-elapsed meetings. A graphical scheduling interface is configured to facilitate scheduling of an upcoming meeting at a designated meeting time, in a meeting location, and with one or more meeting participants. An insight generation machine is configured to report a meeting insight via the graphical scheduling interface. The meeting insight is based on the meeting time, the meeting location, the one or more meeting participants, and the quality parameters, and includes a recommendation to change one or more of the meeting time, meeting location, and meeting participants to improve a quality score of the upcoming meeting.

Abstract: A communication system and method is disclosed, applicable to the mobile communication using pilot-free channel estimation. In the uplink multiple access, the present invention utilizes the gain division multiple access (GDMA) technology to allow multiple users to share the same resource by utilizing the knowledge of different channel coefficients (channel gains) to distinguish signals transmitted by different users when the transmissions are over different and independent fading channels. Without using pilot signals for channel estimation, the present invention uses the clustering algorithm and the geometrical configuration of the superimposed signals for the superimposed signal sequence received by the base station to implement the estimation of channel gains corresponding to multiple users, and, according to the estimated channel gains, the GDMA technology is utilized to recover the original message transmitted by each user.

Abstract: Devices and methods described herein decode a sequence of coded symbols by guessing noise. In various embodiments, noise sequences are ordered, either during system initialization or on a periodic basis. Then, determining a codeword includes iteratively guessing a new noise sequence, removing its effect from received data symbols (e.g. by subtracting or using some other method of operational inversion), and checking whether the resulting data are a codeword using a codebook membership function. In various embodiments, soft information is used to generate a symbol mask that identifies the collection of symbols that are suspected to differ from the channel input, and only these are subject to guessing. This decoder embodies or approximates maximum likelihood (optionally with soft information) decoding for any code. In some embodiments, the decoder tests abounded number of noise sequences, abandoning the search and declaring an erasure after these sequences are exhausted.

Abstract: A method routes an identity query to a particular identity network. An identity broker determines that a candidate identity network is associated with a confidence score that satisfies predetermined criteria. Responsive to determining that the candidate identity network is associated with the confidence score that satisfies the predetermined criteria, the identity broker onboards the candidate identity network into a set of identity networks services, and then routes an identity query for an identity to the candidate identity network that satisfies the predetermined criteria.

Abstract: Computer-implemented techniques for ex post facto accounting for interference from network effects in a one-to-one messaging experiment in an online service. With the techniques, is not necessary to identify isolated, non-interacting communities of users pre-experiment. Instead, unconventionally, a total lift for the treatment feature may be computed post-experiment based on the observed actual messages sent during the experiment by users in the treatment and control groups. Techniques for post-experiment computation of an experiment-specific message response rate, based on observed messages sent, and post-experiment computation of an instant lift, based on overserved message sent, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A network system configured to provide software defined networking is described. The network system comprises networking hardware such as network controllers, memory and other storage devices, and processors. The processors execute instructions to implement various program modules. A user interface permits a user to generate a request for generating an on-demand network connection. A flow module generates a network flow request, based on the received request for generating the on-demand network connection, and transmits the network flow request to a controller module. The controller module controls the network controllers to generate the on-demand network connection based on the generated network flow request.

Abstract: A virtual network function (VNF) management system includes a computer-executable set of instructions to deploy a VNF using one or more resources allocated for use by the VNF in which the one or more resources are allocated by communicating with a resource manager that manages the one or more resources. The system then receives a request from a user interface to un-deploy the VNF, and un-deploys the VNF while keeping the resources allocated for use by the VNF. At a later time, the system can then receive a request to restore the VNF from the user interface, and deploy the VNF again using the allocated resources.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a system and method for tracking service requests are described. Embodiments may include call tree generation logic configured to receive multiple request identifiers associated with a respective one of multiple service requests. Each given request identifier may include an origin identifier, a depth value, and a request stack comprising one or more interaction identifiers. The call tree generation logic may also be configured to, based on multiple request identifiers that each include an origin identifier associated with a particular root request, generating a data structure that specifies a hierarchy of services called to fulfill that particular root request. Based on one or more of the interaction identifiers and one or more of the depth values, the generated data structure may specify for each given service of the hierarchy: a parent service that called the given service, and one or more child services called by the given service.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a supervisory service for a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) tracks a performance metric for a tunnel in the SD-WAN. The supervisory service computes a cumulative distribution function (CDF) for the tracked performance metric. The service assesses curvature of the CDF for the tracked performance metric relative to a service level agreement (SLA) threshold of an application for that performance metric. The service controls assignment of traffic for the application to the tunnel, based on the assessed curvature of the CDF for the tracked performance metric relative to the SLA threshold of the application for that performance metric.

Abstract: A network visibility appliance automatically and dynamically determines a data traffic sampling policy that it should apply, i.e., a policy for determining which flows the network appliance should forward to one or more tools. The technique can be used to adjust for changes in network traffic to avoid exceeding performance constraints (e.g., maximum throughput) of network analytic tools, while maintaining high efficiency of usage of the tools. In the technique, a policy engine monitors network traffic characteristics in a subscriber throughput table and dynamically determines a sampling policy to apply, so as to decrease and/or increase traffic throughput to a given tool, so that the tool is efficiently used.
