  • Patent number: 10837682
Abstract: The present invention provides a device with a combined hybrid mechanical vapour compression-adsorption cycle, particularly to devices used in moisture or temperature control applications which incorporate or embody refrigeration or heat pump cycles, such as for example HVAC applications. In this invention, heat from the adsorption process and/or condensation process of the adsorption cycle is pumped to the desorption process. Thus, this new hybrid combined cycle becomes a partially or fully electricity driven heat pump cycle.

  • Patent number: 10837684
Abstract: An automated refrigerant recharging system determines whether a cooling load parameter of a direct expansion (DX) cooling system that cools information technology (IT) modules of an information handling system (IHS) has reached a defined recharging threshold that results in a response of the pressure value for measurement by the pressure transducer. In response to the cooling load parameter being equal to or greater than the defined recharging threshold, a controller determines whether a pressure value of the refrigerant of the DX cooling system is less than a defined target pressure value corresponding to the defined recharging threshold. In response to determining that the pressure value of the refrigerant of the DX cooling system is less than the defined target pressure value, the controller autonomously opens a control valve to transfer refrigerant to the DX cooling system.

Abstract: A method for repairing a refractory lining of a metallurgical vessel in the hot state. This repair takes place using a supplying apparatus. In addition, recording of at least the worn regions and monitoring of the repair are carried out by a monitoring device. Before, during and/or after the supplying of material, at least a partial region of the areas of the refractory lining of the vessel or the gunning jet is recorded photographically with visualization of the temperature ranges. This results in an evaluation with regard to different parameters such as properties, layer thickness and/or distribution of the supplied material. It has been demonstrated that visualization of the temperature ranges of the areas to be repaired and of the refractory material during supplying of material enables different parameters to be established very accurately, and as a result, optimal coating of the wall lining can be achieved.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a firearm. Components embedded in a portion of the firearm enable the firearm to determine if a user of the firearm is authorized to do so, and either enable or disable a firing mechanism of the firearm accordingly. The firearm may also send communication signals regarding the status of the firearm or events detected by the firearm to a remote device controlled by an authorized user. The system may thereby notify the authorized user of attempted unauthorized use of the firearm, that the firearm has been left behind by the authorized user, or that the firearm is being tampered with. The system may also include multi-tag or a voice-override features that prevent the firearm from being used against the authorized user should the authorized user lose control of the firearm.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for increasing the safety of a handgun. In certain implementations, the apparatus provides a safety device that includes a cover having an ejecting unit, a locking pin, and a releasing plate. The safety device is configured to cover both sides of a trigger guard of the handgun when the safety device is locked to the handgun. The releasing plate is coupled to the locking pin. The releasing plate is disposed on a surface of the safety device so as to be accessible by the user. Preferably, the releasing plate is activated by a user's finger. The releasing plate selectively disengages the locking pin from the trigger guard by movement of the user's finger. When engaged, the locking pin prevents the safety device from being removed from the handgun. When disengaged, the locking pin allows the safety device from being removed from the handgun. In certain embodiments, the ejection unit self-ejects the safety device from the handgun.
