A controller provides health data based on the at least one biological characteristic detected by the biosensor. The health data may be provided to the user, used to modify an aerosol delivery profile of an aerosolizer, stored for later use, or may be communicated to other devices.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for controlling an electronic cigarette, and an electronic cigarette. When a trigger signal is received, the electronic cigarette is initiated, a heating temperature of a heat generating sheet of the electronic cigarette is controlled to be a first temperature, and the heat generating sheet enters a low-temperature heating state; when it is determined that no cartridge exists in a cigarette pocket of the electronic cigarette, the heating temperature of the heat generating sheet is controlled to be maintained at the first temperature which cannot combust a flammable substance, thereby when the electronic cigarette is carried, avoiding safety hazards of a fire brought by an unintentional trigger of an initiation switch in case a flammable substance is brought into contact with the heating element of the electronic cigarette, and improving the usage safety of the electronic cigarette.

In one example, the smoking substitute device comprises a control unit; and an interface configured to communicate with an external device. In this example, the control unit is configured to, after a predetermined action is performed using the smoking substitute device, disable the smoking substitute device when a predetermined criteria relating to usage of the smoking substitute device is met and/or a predetermined length of time has elapsed. In this example, the control unit is configured to enable the smoking substitute device when a signal indicating that an age verification test has been passed by a user of the smoking substitute device is received by the smoking substitute device. Other techniques relating to disabling the smoking substitute device are also disclosed.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a technique that enables a status of a battery in a smoking substitute device to be monitored through a portable communication terminal (e.g. mobile phone). The smoking substitute device is configured to communicate wirelessly with the portable communication terminal, e.g. via a wireless personal area network, to transmit status information concerning the battery. The status information is processed either locally or in the cloud to provide feedback or other notifications to a user of the device. Usage data may also be transmitted, whereby the battery status can be expressed in terms of a predicted remaining usage, e.g. predicted number of remaining activation events.

External to the clothing, the zipper is hidden from view via an invisible zipper configuration. An oversized zipper pull is attached therewith.

Abstract: A particulate blocking undergarment for workers operating in hazardous environments. The undergarment adds particulate blocking technology to an undergarment (men's and women's brief, bra) that provides a protective barrier to significantly reduce the risk of exposure to carcinogens and infiltration around protective over garments. The protective barrier includes a plurality of layers including an inner flame retardant layer and an outer particulate blocking layer. The inner layer may include a Polartech® Power Stretch FR® material—and/or other material per NFPA 1975. The outer layer may include a Stedfast, Stedair® Prevent material—and/or other materials per NPFA 1971.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an adaptive article of clothing. In one example, the adaptive article of clothing may have a first front tail panel and a second front tail panel configured to overlap while wrapping at least partially around a front of a wearer in opposite directions in a first worn configuration and hang open in a second worn configuration. A top portion of at least one of the first front tail panel and the second front tail panel may be detachably coupled in a shoulder region of the adaptive article of clothing to enable access to the wearer while the adaptive article of clothing is worn in each of the first worn configuration and the second worn configuration.

Abstract: The invention provides a nursing cover adapted to cover at least the torso of a user breastfeeding an infant. The cover includes at least one retaining means for lifting and temporarily, but continually, holding a front portion of an article of clothing covering the user's torso above and away from the user's breast so that the user need not have to continually manually hold said front portion during nursing. The cover can also include neckline shaping means adapted to keep the front neckline of the cover lifted away from the user's neck during use, whereby the user can view the infant's face during nursing and free her hands to conduct other activities, while the cover keeps at least her breast and the infant's face hidden from view by others.

Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-layered fabric comprising an absorption layer between two liquid-permeable layers, which multi-layered fabric has a surface with: 1) one or more connection areas wherein a connection is present between both layers; and 2) one or more absorption areas wherein both layers are not connected to each other. The absorption areas are capable of absorbing a liquid whereby the liquid is absorbed by the absorption layer. The connection between the layer L1 and the layer L2 comprises a fusion of the layer L1 and the layer L2, which fusion optionally also includes the absorption layer.

Abstract: A garment includes a substantially seamless base layer made from a compressive material, an outer layer positioned outward of at least a portion of the compressive material, and seam tape coupling the outer layer to the base layer. The outer layer is configured to cover less than an entire circumference of a wearer of the garment, and the base layer extends around at least a portion of the circumference not covered by the outer layer. For example, the base layer may not cover a wearer's lateral thigh region, minimizing the availability of non-taut material in that region that may be subject to easier grabbing or manipulation by an opponent.

The lower visor slidably adjusts relative to the shell to enable the plurality of tab assemblies of the lower visor to traverse the pairs of rails in the plurality of elongated slots of the upper visor, thereby extending the lower visor beyond the upper visor in an extended position or retracting the lower visor to align with the upper visor in a retracted position.

The attachment ring acts as a point of attachment for, and thus secures, one or more components of the protective helmet configured to engage the head of the wearer, such that the components secured to the attachment ring are transported with the attachment ring when the attachment ring is detached and removed from the outer shell.

Abstract: A protective helmet comprises an inner layer and an outer layer separated from the inner layer by a space. An interface layer is positioned in the space between the inner layer and the outer layer and includes an impact absorbing material that non-linearly deforms in response to an incident force on the protective helmet. For example, the impact absorbing material includes multiple filaments each having an end proximate to the inner layer and another end proximate to the outer layer interface, with the filaments configured to non-linearly deform in response to an incident force on the helmet.

Abstract: The present disclosure is related to three-dimensionally printed articles for use in footwear and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, a three-dimensionally printed article may comprise a closed-cell foam. The closed-cell foam may have a gradient in and/or may be a single integrated material. In some embodiments, a three-dimensionally printed article may comprise a sensor. The use of such arrangements can, according to certain embodiments, allow for the production of improved articles of footwear and/or customized articles of footwear.

Abstract: A corrective shoe insole system is configured to produce and promote a positive forefoot. A corrective shoe insole system includes an insole having a forefoot portion and a heel portion. The forefoot portion is be thicker than the heel portion to promote forefoot striking when walking or running. An insole may have one or more forefoot risers coupled thereto to provide a specific positive forefoot insole for the user. A user may gradually increase the thickness of live forefoot portion of the insole by adding or changing out forefoot risers. This gradual increase in forefoot thickness of the insole may prevent injury and muscle strain from the adjusted foot striking position. A forefoot riser may be detachably attachable to the forefoot portion of the insole and an attachment feature may provide positive and secure attachment to prevent movement of the forefoot riser.

Abstract: Debondable adhesive compositions are provided. This disclosure also provides articles of footwear and components for articles of footwear including a debondable adhesive matrix. The debondable adhesive matrix can allow for the bonding and debonding of two substrates in the article of footwear or component thereof. This disclosure also provides methods of making the debondable adhesive compositions and methods of using said compositions for bonding and debonding the substrates, e.g. for bonding and debonding of an upper and an outsole in an article of footwear.

Abstract: A system for securing shoes to the feet using a single pull shoe closure arrangement. Each of the various embodiments utilizes a “transverse strap” arrangement that extends between the lateral and medial sides of the shoe across the tongue or top portion of the shoe. The transverse strap is a single, generally flat, strap extending from one side of the shoe across the top portion of the shoe to the opposite side where it joins with a single pull sub-system. The preferred embodiments use a single pull system oriented longitudinally along one side of the shoe to draws upon one end of the transverse strap configuration to affect the shoe closure. Alternate embodiments pull a shorter draw strap laterally to a point of securement on the side of the shoe below the tongue area without the need for a longitudinal pull motion.
