Publication number: 20210196171Abstract: Wearable devices that track activity and ventilation rates for use on humans or animals that breathe air and methods of use thereof, are provided. The device is generally suitable to be worn around a subject's chest, and typically contains one or more sensors. Generally, one sensor detects respiratory rate and another sensor detects acceleration (i.e. activity). The method and apparatus can be used to determine the minimum ventilation rate for a given degree (intensity) of movement to construct the ‘stress-free’ relationship between ventilation rate and movement. Then measured values of ventilation rate in relation to movement are compared to the predicted, minimum ventilation rates (stress-free values) and the minimum ‘stress-free’ values are subtracted from the measured values. The difference (Ventilation Rate Above Predicted’ (VRAP)) correlates with stress in the subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2019Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventors: Carlos M. Publication number: 20210196213Abstract: In an image processing device (300), a position determiner (313) determines, in a three-dimensional image showing an upper jaw part of a subject and a lower jaw part of the subject, positions of left and right mental foramina of the lower jaw part and a position of an incisors tube of the upper jaw part. A coordinate system setter (314) sets a three-dimensional coordinate system having an origin at a position established by the positions of the left and right mental foramina and the position of the incisors tube that are determined by the position determiner (313), the three-dimensional coordinate system including: a first coordinate axis that passes through the origin and the position of the incisors tube; a second coordinate axis that is perpendicular to the first coordinate axis and a straight line connecting the position of the left mental foramen and the position of the right mental foramen; and a third coordinate axis that is perpendicular to the first coordinate axis and the second coordinate axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2018Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventors: Makoto SAKAMOTO, Koichi KOBAYASHI, Yusuke MORISE, Yuta SAKAGAMI, Takashi KAMEDA

Publication number: 20210196215Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of multi-motion compensation for high-quality cone-beam CT of the head. A multi-stage approach is incorporated that includes a pre-conditioning stage in which an initial estimation of the motion trajectory is obtained with 3D-2D registration using the motion-contaminated CBCT and projection data. In the present invention, the motion-contaminated CBCT is used as a basis for 3D-2D registration in the pre-conditioning stage to capture large amplitude, rapid movements of the head and provide better initialization of the autofocus solution.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2019Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventors: JEFFREY H. Publication number: 20210196216Abstract: A multi-axis imaging system comprising an imaging gantry with an imaging axis extending through a bore of the imaging gantry, a support column that supports the imaging gantry on one side of the gantry in a cantilevered manner, and a base that supports the imaging gantry and the support column. The imaging system including a first drive mechanism that translates the gantry in a vertical direction relative to the support column and the base, a second drive mechanism that rotates the gantry with respect to the support column between a first orientation where the imaging axis of the imaging gantry extends in a vertical direction parallel to the support column and a second orientation where the imaging axis of the gantry extends in a horizontal direction parallel with the base, and a third drive mechanism that translates the support column and the gantry in a horizontal direction along the base.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2021Publication date: July 1, 2021Applicant: Mobius Imaging, LLCInventors: Eugene A. Publication number: 20210196217Abstract: A system and method for providing dynamic 3-D anatomical visualizations generates a 3D visualization of a patient's airway that may be dynamically transformed to characterize changes to the airway (e.g., as the patient breathes, when patient performs a Mueller's manoeuvre, and/or in response to mandibular repositioning). The 3D visualization is generated based on an integration of static 3D image data and acoustic reflection measurements of the airway determined and provided by an acoustic reflection measurement device. The movements or changes to the region of interest may be determined based on real-time dynamic readings taken by the acoustic reflection measurement device, and the 3D visualization may be transformed in real-time or near real-time stream based on the dynamic readings. The transformation of the 3D visualization provides an animated visualization of the airway.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2020Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventor: Jerry Chi Hu

Publication number: 20210196219Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for medical imaging systems. In one embodiment, a method for a medical imaging system comprises acquiring emission data during a positron emission tomography (PET) scan of a patient, reconstructing a series of live PET images while acquiring the emission data, and tracking motion of the patient during the acquiring based on the series of live PET images. In this way, patient motion during the scan may be identified and compensated for via scan acquisition and/or data processing adjustments, thereby producing a diagnostic PET image with reduced motion artifacts and increased diagnostic quality.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2019Publication date: July 1, 2021Inventors: Floribertus P.
