The vertical axis propeller is mounted on a rod between the tail fins and can be rotate freely and easily upon said rod member by the stream of water. Motion is imparted to the propeller by the action of the water as the lure is drawn by the fisherman through the water.

Abstract: A spool of a dual-bearing reel includes a bobbin trunk, first and second flange portions and cylindrical portions. The first flange portion extends outwardly from the first end of the bobbin trunk and the second flange portion extends outwardly from the second end of the bobbin trunk. The first and second flanges do not have through-holes penetrating therethrough in an axial direction. The cylindrical portions extend outwardly from distal end portions of the flange portions. The first and second flange portions have a first tapered portion and a second tapered portion, respectively, each of the first and tapered portions becoming thinner in a radially outward direction. An average width between the first and tapered portions is less than or equal to 60% of an outer diameter of the cylindrical portion.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a slow-release biodegradable composite pesticide plug that can be used for trunk injection delivery of pesticides to protect woody plants such as trees (e.g., fruit trees) against pests. The composite pesticide plug generally includes a thermoplastic polymer matrix with a water-soluble thermoplastic polymer component, a cellulosic reinforcement, and a pesticide or other active ingredient. After injection into the tree trunk, the composite pesticide plug provides a uniform, relatively consistent dose of pesticide or other active ingredient to all parts of the tree throughout the growing season, thus reducing waste of material and cost. The biodegradable nature of the composite plug also enhances the healing of the tree after injection.

Abstract: Health concerns of the vector-borne diseases, such as, yellow fever, malaria, dengue fever and general discomfort due to insect bites, has encouraged the development of insecticides to kill insects and insect repellents to keep insects away from treated human skin. Annatto extracts as a natural insect repellent and insecticide have many advantages over synthetic such as lower harmful side effects, low resistance, and more environmentally friendly. Annatto extracts containing ishwarane (C15) and geranyl-?-terpinene (C20) have strong mosquito repellency. Annatto extracts containing geranyl-?-terpinene (C20) and geranylgeraniol (C20) have strong larvicidal activity. Annatto extracts with approximately equal C15 and C20 composition have insect repellency, and annatto extracts with mainly C20 composition have larvicidal activity. Annatto extracts have synergistic effects with other natural extracts.
