Optical rays which intersect the virtual aperture are widely scattered across the retina causing the light to be virtually prevented from reaching detectable levels on the retina. The use of the virtual aperture helps remove monochromatic and chromatic aberrations yielding high-definition retinal images. For a given definition of acceptable vision, the depth of field is increased over a larger diameter optical zone. In addition, thinner intraocular lenses can be produced since the optical zone can have a smaller diameter. This in turn allows smaller corneal incisions and easier implantation surgery.

The balloon catheter may be positioned radially inward of the anchor catheter, and may include an inflatable balloon at a distal end thereof. The balloon may be in fluid communication with the balloon catheter. The needle may be positioned radially inward of the balloon catheter and may be translatable relative to the balloon, the needle having a sharp distal tip.

Abstract: The application relates to a heart valve clamp, comprises a fixed arm mechanism, a clamping arm mechanism, and a driving mechanism. The fixed arm mechanism comprises a fixed arm body and at least two fixed arms, extending outward from the fixed arm body, and integrally formed with the fixed arm body. The clamping arm mechanism comprises a clamping arm body connected to a bottom of the fixed arm body, and at least two clamping arms extending outward from the clamping arm bodies and integrally formed with the clamping arm body; and the driving mechanism comprises a second driving assembly that drives the fixed arm and the clamping arm to open or close. The fixed arm mechanism and the clamping arm mechanism of the entire heart valve clamp respectively forms an integral form, which can avoid the risk of the fixed arm or the clamping arm being disengaged, the stability of the whole structure is better.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to prosthetic valves and methods and systems for deploying, positioning, and recapturing the same. A prosthetic valve includes one or more support structures. At least one of the one or more support structures defines an elongate central passageway of the prosthetic valve. The prosthetic valve can also include a plurality of leaflet elements attached to at least one of the one or more support structures and disposed within the elongate central passageway for control of fluid flow through the elongate central passageway. At least one of the one or more support structures is configured to biodynamically fix the prosthetic valve within a native valve such as, for example, a native tricuspid valve of a heart.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to minimally invasive, cost-effective, adaptable methods, systems, and devices used to repair anatomical joint conditions. The repair may be necessitated by trauma, disease or other conditions. The anatomical joint may specifically include mammalian joints such as the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, finger, hip, spine, toe and ankle, for example. The methods, systems, and devices disclosed herein include leveraging the significant (and often unappreciated) role the subchondral bone plays in the health status of the afflicted anatomical joint.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the diagnosis and treatment of joint-related diseases, in particular osteoarthritis. Based on the analysis of the microarchitecture, such as microchannels, of the subchondral bone, the present invention provides methods for evaluating the health state of a joint as well as determining whether a joint is prone to develop or has already developed a disease correlated to joint and cartilage destruction. The invention further provides for membranes and other implants mimicking healthy subchondral bone structure suitable for promoting regeneration of joint structure and function.
