Abstract: An apparatus of the present technology generally includes an elongated shaft having a proximal portion and a distal portion, a first elongated channel extending from the proximal portion to the distal portion, a second channel extending from the proximal portion to the distal portion, and a slidable imaging probe disposed within the first elongated channel. The apparatus can be manually, robotically, and/or teleoperably steerable and is configured for delivery to a subject and/or positioning within a subject near or at a target location. Once the steerable apparatus has been successfully positioned at the target location, the imaging probe can be repositioned relative to the first elongated channel, thereby opening a working lumen. The working lumen and second channel are configured for removal of material from the target location within the subject by applying simultaneous activities including suction, irrigation, and/or deliver a tool to the target location.

Abstract: In an embodiment, multiple conjugate planes are used to create a plurality of optical pupil planes and a plurality of image planes. These optical planes solve multiple problems and introduce significant performance enhancements in the system. In one implementation of a disclosed embodiment, the measurement channel is based on the reverse Shack-Hartmann principle. By introducing a relay system (for example a 4-f lens system) the slit plane could be made conjugate to the measured system pupil plane (unlike a previous implementation where the slits were places away from the pupil plane as it was not accessible directly). Creating a virtual pupil plane allows for more accurate placement of the plane without the need for contact with the measured optical system.

Abstract: A medical tracking system including a medical trackable structure configured to be inserted in a body of a patient, a control circuit, and a sensor is provided. The medical trackable structure includes a permanent magnet, and a coil arranged adjacent to the permanent magnet. The control circuit is configured to apply an excitation signal to the coil and rotate the permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is configured to generate a magnetic field including harmonics during the rotation, based in part on the excitation signal applied to the coil. The sensor is configured to sense the harmonics included in the magnetic field and to output to the control circuit a sensor signal based on the magnetic field. The control circuit further calculates position information associated with the medical trackable structure within the body of the patient based on the sensor signal.

Abstract: An artificial intelligence-based system and method for scalable screening of individuals for respiratory infection, such as COVID-19. The system is trained to distinguish distinct latent features of cough sounds produced by a COVID-19 infected person from cough sounds produced by patients suffering from any other respiratory infection or involuntary cough sounds produced by a healthy person. Cough sound samples from individuals can be remotely collected and evaluated by the system for likelihood of the COVID-19 infection. Additionally, images of affected body parts, biomarkers, metadata, and other respiratory sound samples can also be used for screening.

Abstract: A system and method for human motion detection and tracking are disclosed. In one embodiment, a smart device having an optical sensing instrument monitors a stage. Memory is accessible to a processor and communicatively coupled to the optical sensing instrument. The system captures an image frame from the optical sensing instrument. The image frame is then converted into a designated image frame format, which is provided to a pose estimator. A two-dimensional dataset is received from the pose estimator. The system then converts, using inverse kinematics, the two-dimensional dataset into a three-dimensional dataset, which includes time-independent static joint positions, and then calculates, using the three-dimensional dataset, the position of each of the respective plurality of body parts in the image frame.
