Abstract: A dry sprinkler has a casing tube having an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice. When the sprinkler is in a non-actuated state, an inlet seal assembly operatively seals the inlet orifice and an outlet seat assembly operatively seals the outlet orifice. A translating member extends through the casing tube between an inlet and an outlet. The translating member axially translates from a first position, in which the translating member retains the inlet seal assembly in a sealed state, to a second position, in which the translating member releases the inlet seal assembly, toward the outlet when the outlet seat assembly is released. The sprinkler has a nominal K-factor greater than 17 gpm/(psi)1/2. A difference between a cross-sectional area of the casing tube and a cross-sectional area bounded by an outer perimeter of the translating member is more than 30% of the cross-sectional area of the casing tube.

Abstract: Described herein is a golf bag with a deployable stand assembly and anti-tangle features that prevent clubs from tangling within the golf bag, and in particular, prevent golf club grips from crossing over and other and making it difficult to pull out a particular club. Because multiple golf clubs are often placed together in a single golf bag, the golf clubs can get in each other's way. Golf clubs can tangle if their shafts or grips crisscross within the bag. Club tangle is typically caused by movement of the club grips, while the clubs are stored in the bag. When clubs are tangled, it becomes hard to remove a single golf club without either facing resistance or pulling a second club out. Golf clubs are typically placed head-up in a golf bag, resulting in the golf club grips sitting in the base of the bag. During a golf round, fabric portions of the bag can crumple, especially near the base, restricting the available area for the golf clubs. The area restriction can shift the grips and aggravate entanglement.

Abstract: A sports training device is provided for use with hand held sporting equipment of the type including an elongated shaft portion. The sports training device includes an elongated hollow tubular body having an inside wall, open first and second ends communicating with the hollow of the body, and an outer gripping surface. The nominal dimension of the inside wall is contemplated to be greater than a maximum outer dimension of the elongated shaft, so that the tubular body is capable of fitting over the end of the shaft and of moving both longitudinally along the shaft and rotationally around the shaft. The outer hand-gripping surface includes dimensional contours extending longitudinally along the outer surface of the body for promoting hand grip and proper hand position.

Abstract: A high-speed skatemill with a movable skatemill belt that includes a movable skatemill belt mounted on the rotating drums and where the working area of the movable skatemill belt is supported by stationary rigid sliding pads with integrated distribution channels for distributing a compressed gas or gas mixtures into the injection openings or slits. The compressed gas or the compressed gas mixture optionally enriched with an anti-friction medium in the form of a vapor or aerosol or dispersion containing solid dust particles or solid microparticles is injected through the inlet openings. By means of the anti-friction applicator, the anti-friction medium is applied to the movable skatemill belt, which then transports the medium to the points of contact with the fixed rigid sliding pads. Stationary solid sliding pads can be cooled down by liquid and/or gaseous cooling medium circulating by default in the hollow support beams of the stationary solid sliding pads.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for providing an adjusted yardage recommendation (AYR) to a golfer prior to a golf shot. AYRs are determined based on predicted golf ball trajectories that are modeled from a golfer's golf ball launch data, using non-classical mathematical approximation methods. Each of the modeled trajectories are unique, and result in personalized AYR values that are personalized to each individual golfer, even where two golfers hit a ball with the same club the same distance while having two different ball flights. Devices that can perform the methods of the present invention include rangefinder devices and/or portable computing devices, such as a smartphone. Systems can include a rangefinder device and a portable computing device, in which the rangefinder device determines the line-of-sight distance and angle of elevation to a target and communicates the same to the portable computing device, which calculates the AYR.

Abstract: A system and method for correlating a video content presentation rate with an exercise machine operation rate is disclosed. A preferred embodiment of the apparatus is an interactive video system that adapts easily to use with a wide range of gym equipment utilizing a video presentation device that includes an accelerometer and/or camera. The camera embodiment utilizes vision algorithms to determine periodicity and motion orientation prior to modifying the input as a function of the type of exercise equipment is being utilized, in order to determine a cadence. In one embodiment the camera does not rely on seeing the limbs being exercised but utilizes the observation that even highly trained athletes have a degree of extraneous motion of their theoretically immobile body parts during exercise. A prerecorded video presentation is modulated by sensing proximate vibrational energy to determine cadence in the case of the accelerometer.
