The gas generator includes a body containing inflation gas and sealed with an unsealable lid, and a discharge portion that includes a housing, an outlet that is formed in the housing and allows outflow of gas to the airbag when the body is unsealed, a piercing pin for unsealing the lid, a spring for moving the pin, a retaining member that retains the spring, and a sliding mechanism that shifts the retaining member to a release position. The sliding mechanism includes a drive source and a connecting member that shifts the retaining member to the release position by a driving force of the drive source. The piercing pin, spring, lid and a portion of the retaining member retaining the spring are housed in the housing. The drive source and connecting member are partitioned from a gas channel inside the housing.

Abstract: This patent application describes a weighted, easily sanitized, pediatric dental garment that both shields children from biological fluids and helps them remain still during dental procedures. The garment is shaped like a traditional dental apron. Multiple layers comprise the garment; the outermost layers are made from vinyl or some other easily sanitized material. These layers are quilted into a plurality of cells. Each cell holds weighted disks or beads, which simulate a calming embrace. The garment also features a strap, straps, or pockets across the back, which the patient may hold and pull with varying degrees of force during the dental procedure to provide a stress outlet. These features help the patient to remain still and calm during the dental procedure.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus, system and method includes at least a protective garment that prevents concussive effects on internal organs. The garment many include a garment body; and, embedded in the garment body, at least one multi-sectional pad. At least two of the multi-sections may comprise: at least one aramid layer; at least one multi-durometer foam layer having a substantially similar surface area to that provided by the at least one aramid layer; and at least one shield layer.

Abstract: A mask insert and mask system for improving breathing during exertion are disclosed. A mask adjunct device allows for better ventilatory airflow to a masked user especially when moisture causes the mask to collapse against the face reducing airflow. The mask adjunct device is insertable under a face mask to provide a rigid structure defining non-collapsible space between the face and the outer mask. The mask adjunct device comprises a sidewall component comprising openings for air flow and a face engaging component for engaging the user's face. An outer wall component rigidly connects the sidewall component opposite the face engaging component to create the non-collapsible space. The system further comprises an outer face mask for positioning over the mask adjunct device.

Abstract: Most protective masks are not designed to follow individual facial contours and have a limited ability to adjust to various facial sizes and shapes. A sealing cushion for use with surgical face masks and the like has a pliant body with a tacky surface and a wire embedded within, which together create a frame-like structure having a central aperture. The wire encased within the body of the cushion allows the apparatus to be shaped and fitted to the contours of the face to create a substantially airtight seal between the face and the mask. The sealing cushion can prevent or reduce entry of airborne contaminants around the sides and edges of the mask.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved face shield that offers a way to keep the wearer safe from harmful airborne pathogens and other pollutants, while still performing a job or task. The face shield has a transparent or translucent frame and a headband for securing the face shield. The face shield is integrated with at least one microphone, an optional speaker, a digital display disposed on the headband, a wireless module and connection ports. A plurality of sensors augments the protection of the wearer and other users and calculate the oxygen level and the temperature of the wearer as well as other sensors. Connection ports such as XLR port can be used for connecting the face shield to speaker, and a USB port can be used for connecting to a handheld electronic device.

Abstract: A sanitizing face mask inhibits the transmission of pathogens in air respired through the nose and mouth of a wearer. The mask includes hydrophobic inner and outer layers and an intermediate layer enclosed between them. The intermediate layer is saturated with a sanitizing liquid such as an ethanol solution. Respired air encounters the sanitizing liquid as it passes through the intermediate layer, killing pathogens borne on droplets or aerosols. The sanitizing mask protects the wearer, from pathogens in the inspired air, and others, from possible pathogens in the expired air of the wearer.

A process for making the coated glove is also disclosed.

Abstract: Golf shoes having improved outsole constructions are provided. The golf shoes include upper, midsole, and outsole sections. The outsole includes a first set of arc pathways extending along the outsole in one direction. A second set of arc pathways extend along the outsole in a second direction. When the first and second arc pathways are superposed over each other, four-sided tile pieces are formed, and these tiles contain protruding traction members. In one embodiment, the tiles comprise a first protruding traction member, an opposing second protruding traction member, and a non-protruding segment disposed between the first and second traction members. Different traction zones containing different traction members are provided on the outsole. These zones provide improved multi-surface traction. In one embodiment of the outsole, there is no channeling and no trenching of the golf course turf. There is less damage to the golf course for a given amount of traction.

The shoe also includes a heel backing support, a carbon fiber midsole orthotic piece, and a foam edging attached around the sole portion to prevent foot deviation over the edges of the sole portion. The injury-preventing compression shoe is useful for reducing sports related injuries while improving performance.
