Publication number: 20230210492Abstract: An apparatus and method for estimating one or more hemodynamic parameters such as cardiac output or stroke volume. Embodiments are based on the concept of incorporating information about vascular tone into hemodynamic parameter estimation to improve accuracy. More particularly, embodiments use a measurement of a time duration for a blood pulse to travel from the heart along a certain length of an arterial path as a proxy measure for vascular tone, and incorporate this into hemodynamic parameter estimation. Embodiments are also based on incorporating vascular tone proxy measurements for multiple different arterial paths to take account of vascular tone variations between different portions of the circulatory system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2021Publication date: July 6, 2023Inventors: ROHAN JOSHI, RALPH WILHELM CHRISTIANUS GEMMA ROSA WIJSHOFF

Publication number: 20230210493Abstract: Systems and methods for applying therapeutic ultrasound to the brain while using ultrasound to compensate for the attenuation and dephasing of ultrasound by each individual's head. The compensation delivers into the target deterministic ultrasound intensity. The compensation is based on relative ultrasound through-transmit measurements, which are performed using a set of ultrasonic emitters over one side of the head and a set of receivers on the other side. The measurements are performed with the head absent and present. Based on the difference between these measurements, the set of ultrasound waves is adjusted to compensate for attenuations and dephasing caused by the ultrasound wave passing into the head through the skull and scalp. The adjusted set of ultrasound waves provides intended, deterministic ultrasound intensity at the target location.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2023Publication date: July 6, 2023Inventor: Jan Kubanek

Publication number: 20230210533Abstract: A detachment system for delivering an embolic coil implant to a treatment site is provided. A pull wire through a lumen of the detachment system that engages a loop wire can include a slack section. The slack section can be one or more bends, a spiral coil, or a stretchable material. The slack section is effective to inhibit premature detachment of the implantable medical device by inhibiting movement of the distal end of the pull wire when the detachment system is traversing a microcatheter.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2021Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: DePuy Synthes Products, Inc.Inventors: Ariel SOTO DEL VALLE, Lacey GOROCHOW

Publication number: 20230210534Abstract: Vaso-occlusive apparatuses, including implants, and methods of using them to treat aneurysms. For example, described herein are expandable vaso-occlusive implants that include one or more soft and expandable braided member coupled to a pushable member such as a coil that maybe inserted and retrieved from within an aneurism using a delivery catheter. In particular, the expandable implants described herein are configured to allow relatively soft and elongate implants to be pushed out of a cannula without binding up within the cannula.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2023Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: STRYKER EUROPEAN HOLDINGS I, LLCInventors: Michael P. Publication number: 20230210535Abstract: A detachment system for delivering an embolic coil implant to a treatment site is provided. A loop wire that is looped over a pull wire of the system can include one or more twists to increase frictional resistance against the pull wire. The additional resistance decreases likelihood of premature deployment of the embolic coil prior to the detachment system reaching the treatment site.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 31, 2021Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: DePuy Synthes Products, Inc.Inventors: Lacey GOROCHOW, Robert SLAZAS, Zhixian CHEN

Publication number: 20230210536Abstract: Delivery and detachment system for an implantable intravascular device, the system including a securement wire in a passageway of an inner support tube. Imposed on the securement wire is a controlled friction force established within an intentional friction zone created by: (i) reflow of an outer sleeve through side port opening(s) in the inner support tube and into the passageway; or (ii) the securement wire having bend(s) creating an associated point(s) of direct physical contact with the inner wall of the inner support tube. During delivery of the implantable intravascular treatment device to a target site, the imposed controlled friction force minimizing movement of the securement wire relative to the inner support tube, and upon reaching the target site, a force being applied to overcome the imparted controlled friction force and releasing the implantable intravascular device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Inventors: Daniel SOLAUN, Francisco ALES, David BLUMENSTYK, Zhixian CHEN, Thomas GALLERANI, Tyson MONTIDORO

Publication number: 20230210537Abstract: An occluding device includes a sealing disc. The sealing disc includes a proximal disc surface and a distal disc surface, as well as an edge connecting the proximal disc surface and the distal disc surface. The sealing disc is provided with at least one buffer member. The at least one buffer member is distributed along the edge. The occluding device can reduce the damage inflicted on internal tissues caused by the edge of the sealing disc, better protect the internal tissues and reduce the risk of surgery.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2020Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: LIFETECH SCIENTIFIC (SHENZHEN) CO., LTD.Inventors: Anning LI, Jianyong Liu

Publication number: 20230210538Abstract: A bristle device for delivery into a body lumen comprises a longitudinally extending stem 1 and a plurality of bristles extending generally outwardly from the stem for anchoring the device in a body lumen. There may be at least two bristle segments and in some cases there are flexible sections between the segments. The flexible sections articulate to enable the device to pass through a catheter placed in a tortuous anatomy or to be deployed in a curved vessel, or across a bifurcation. In some cases at least some of the bristle segments are spaced-apart to accommodate bending of the bristles.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: Embo Medical LimitedInventors: Wayne Allen, Colin Forde, Liam Mullins, Paul Gilson, William Sheridan
