Publication number: 20230210384Abstract: The invention provides a multi-sensor system that uses an algorithm based on adaptive filtering to monitor a patient's respiratory rate. The system features a first sensor selected from the following group: i) an impedance pneumography sensor featuring at least two electrodes and a processing circuit configured to measure an impedance pneumography signal; ii) an ECG sensor featuring at least two electrodes and an ECG processing circuit configured to measure an ECG signal; and iii) a PPG sensor featuring a light source, photodetector, and PPG processing circuit configured to measure a PPG signal. Each of these sensors measures a time-dependent signal which is sensitive to respiratory rate and, during operation, is processed to determine an initial respiratory rate value. An adaptive digital filter is determined from the initial respiratory rate. The system features a second sensor (e.g.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 27, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: SOTERA WIRELESS, INC.Inventors: Matthew BANET, Devin McCOMBIE, Marshal DHILLON

Publication number: 20230210386Abstract: A sphygmomanometer according to the present invention includes a blood pressure measuring cuff worn around a site to be measured, a pressure device that pressurizes or depressurizes the cuff, and a sound detection device that detects a sound generated by the site to be measured via the cuff. An amplification factor setting unit measures a first passage time required for the pressure of the cuff to pass through a first pressure range in a pressurization process of the cuff, and variably sets an amplification factor for a Korotkoff sound component according to the first passage time. A blood pressure calculation unit receives an output of the sound detection device according to the sound from the cuff, amplifies the Korotkoff sound component included in the output at a set amplification factor, and calculates a blood pressure of the site to be measured.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2023Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: OMRON HEALTHCARE CO., LTD.Inventors: Terumasa NAITO, Yukiya SAWANOI

Publication number: 20230210388Abstract: Systems and methods for predicting and treating relapses for neurological conditions in accordance with embodiments of the invention are illustrated. One embodiment includes a method for predicting and treating a clinical neurological condition relapse. The method includes steps for selecting a threshold heart rate variability value for a patient suffering from a clinical neurological condition, monitoring, using a cardiac monitor, the heart rate variability of the patient over time, providing an indicator that a relapse is imminent when the heart rate variability of the patient falls below the threshold heart rate variability value, and treating the patient using a transcranial magnetic stimulation device by applying an accelerated theta burst stimulation protocol where the transcranial magnetic stimulation target is the left prefrontal dorsolateral cortex.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2022Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior UniversityInventors: Nolan Williams, Keith Sudheimer

Publication number: 20230210390Abstract: A method for a wearable device to determine a biological parameter of a tissue of a person. To apply an emitting of a first and a second wavelength of light towards the tissue. To collect and sense a first and a second set of frequency bands from the signals received back from the first and the second wavelengths respectively. The first set of frequency bands represents a first signal which corresponds to a combination of the biological parameter and an extraneous noise. The second set of frequency bands represents a second signal mainly comprising the extraneous noise. To subtract the first set of frequency bands from the second set of frequency bands in the frequency domain to obtain a third set of frequency bands. The third set of frequency bands represents a third signal corresponding to the biological parameter.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2021Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: BIOBEAT TECHNOLOGIES LTDInventors: Arik BEN ISHAY, Israel SARUSSI, Johanan MA:Y

Publication number: 20230210391Abstract: Various examples are described for detecting heart rate and respiratory rate by using measurements of light applied to skin through an article. For example, a sensor application obtains a set of measurements of light. The application compensates for a contribution of the article based on one or more known optical properties of the article. The sensor application further determines, from the set of measurements of light, a periodic change in amplitude. The sensor application identifies the periodic change in amplitude as a heart rate having an identical periodicity. The sensor application identifies a respiratory rate as equal to the rate of change of the heart rate.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2023Publication date: July 6, 2023Applicant: Verily Life Sciences LLCInventor: David He
