Publication number: 20230270387Abstract: The accuracy of physiological data measured through contact with skin can be validated by characterizing the forces at the surfaces where data is measured. Conventional devices do not monitor the fit of skin-based sensors, making the accuracy and confidence in physiological data dependent on the user ensuring that the device is fitted properly. Over time, the seating of a device will vary due to changes in user activity and the need to periodically remove a device. Inevitably, instances will arise where the device is not fitted correctly, which may result in skewed physiological metrics. By monitoring the forces acting on the housing of a device, the interface of skin sensors can be characterized allowing for confidence metrics in the corresponding physiological data to be determined. In some cases, a user can be notified when a device is not seated properly, and in some cases, data may even be calibrated based on the fit of a device.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2023Publication date: August 31, 2023Inventors: Brett Adam Coakley, Peter Colin Dess, Daniel Joel Freschl, Lindsey Michelle Sunden, Suraj Gowda, Tracy Norman Giest, Aditya Vivekanand Nadkarni

Publication number: 20230270424Abstract: The present disclosure relates to medical devices. More particularly, this disclosure describes a vascular device allowing large bore transseptal access with subsequent atrial re-access by preplacing closures/tissue approximating sutures prior to creating a septostomy. Generally, the device may include a delivery catheter for puncturing and cutting the interatrial septum. An anchor of the delivery catheter may secure the suture in an atrium to a septum wall, for example, the left atrium. Incisions may be made by an expandable cutting implement which may use mechanical or radio frequency (RF) energy without interfering with the suture. A therapeutic instrument may be advanced through the tissue plane after the incisions are made by the cutting implement. Closure of the incision may be performed with the previously placed sutures.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 13, 2020Publication date: August 31, 2023Applicant: AMX Axis, LLCInventors: Jaime E. Publication number: 20230270428Abstract: A surgical wire is part of a system that includes a retractor blade defining one or more paths for the surgical wire to follow. The paths can be one or more openings, cannulations, paths, tubes, other structures, or combinations thereof. The surgical wire can be routed through the front, back, and/or middle of the retractor blade and into a vertebral body. The surgical wire can be routed through a shim in communication with the retractor blade and into a vertebral body Systems and methods are used to insert surgical wires into bone. Systems and methods are used for removing surgical wires from bone. Systems include those for gripping and pulling or pushing surgical wires. Systems include those that interact with a retractor (e.g., an arm, body, or blade thereof) to facilitate removal of the surgical wire.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2023Publication date: August 31, 2023Inventors: Cole Douglas, Kelli Lynch, Juan Uribe, Shane Fedon, Byron Riemhofer, Michael Serra, Alejandro De La Rosa, Ross Volpe, Chunqing Lu, Stephen Laffoon
