Abstract: A living body compressing clip 100 includes a clip body 1 with metallic arm parts 5a and 5b configured to hold a living body tissue. The clip body 1 includes compressing pieces 10 that protrude from distal end parts of the arm parts 5a and 5b in a long-side direction of the arm parts 5a and 5b. The compressing pieces 10 are formed from a flexible resin and hold a fluorescent dye. According to the living body compressing clip 100, the compressing pieces 10 causes a vascular network to collapse while holding the living body tissue by the arm parts 5a and 5b. Therefore, when the arm parts 5a and 5b hold the mucosal tissue of the tubular organ and excitation light is applied thereto, the fluorescence emitted by the compressing pieces 10 can be satisfactorily confirmed from the serosal side.

Abstract: During operation, an electronic device may receive measurement information (such as a speed of insertion, a torque and/or a 3D position) associated with a handheld tool (such as a drill) during a dental procedure on an individual. Note that the measurements may be performed directly or may be inferred, such as based on power consumption of the drill as a function of time. Then, the electronic device may dynamically determine a sequence of operations for creating a dental osteotomy during the dental procedure based at least in part on the measurement information. Moreover, the electronic device may provide information associated with the determined sequence of operations, such as: a depth, a width and/or a shape of the dental osteotomy; a sequence of tools to use during the dental procedure; a speed of insertion of the drill; an implant design or shape to be placed; and/or a torque of the drill.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of moving at least one tooth within a plurality of teeth. Pursuant to the method, one must determine the mass of the tooth and determine the initial position of the tooth. One then calculates a first force necessary to move the tooth a given distance in a set period of time using Newtonian physics equations, as discussed further below. The calculated force is then applied to the tooth for the given period of time by using an orthodontic aligner tray shaped to apply the calculated force to the tooth. After the expiration of the given period of time, the new position of the tooth is determined, and the Newtonian physics equations are calibrated by adjusting the equations to compensate difference between the actual position of the tooth as compared to the predicted position of the tooth under the previously calculated force.

Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve assembly includes a self-expandable stent having a flared upper portion, a lower portion, and an intermediate portion extending from the upper portion to the lower portion. The stent includes upwardly bent hooks extending from an outer surface of the stent, which are adapted to engage native leaflet tissue. The stent further includes an elongate anchoring member extending from the lower portion of the stent, which is adapted to be secured to a ventricle wall via a prong portion. When deployed within the native heart valve, the flared upper portion contacts a supra-annular surface of the native heart valve for preventing downward migration of the prosthetic heart valve assembly toward the ventricle and the upwardly bent hooks and the elongate anchoring member prevent upward migration of the prosthetic heart valve assembly toward an atrium.
