  • Patent number: 11895593
Abstract: To reduce power consumption, a user equipment (UE) may trigger a microsleep in a subframe when a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) does not include a downlink grant. However, because the microsleep depends on the PDCCH not including a downlink grant, the UE cannot trigger the microsleep until after the PDCCH is decoded. Accordingly, in some aspects, a UE may enable an aggressive extra microsleep in which a microsleep duration may be increased by reducing a PDCCH decode time. For example, a UE may use a stale channel estimate and noise estimate from a previous subframe to perform PDCCH demapping when conditions related to a PDCCH block error rate are satisfied. In this way, removing channel estimation and noise estimation from a PDCCH demapping path may reduce the PDCCH decode time, whereby the UE may trigger a microsleep sooner to increase a sleep ratio and thereby increase power savings.

  • Patent number: 11895599
Abstract: Methods inform an eNodeB on the transmit power status of a user equipment in a mobile communication system using component carrier (CC) aggregation. Also described is an implementation of these methods by hardware and in software. The invention proposes procedures that allow the eNodeB to recognize the power usage status of a UE in a communication system using carrier aggregation. The UE indicates to the eNodeB when the UE is close to using its total maximum UE transmit power or when it has exceeded the same. This is achieved by the UE including indicator(s) and/or new MAC CEs to one or more protocol data units transmitted on respective component carriers within a single sub-frame that is providing the eNodeB with power status information. The MAC CEs may report a per-UE power headroom. Alternatively, the MAC CEs may report per-CC power headrooms and/or power reductions applied to the respective uplink CCs.

  • Patent number: 11895605
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method and a device in a User Equipment (UE) and a base station for wireless communication. The UE first receives a first radio signal and a second radio signal, and then transmits a third radio signal. The first radio signal is used for determining a first signature sequence, and a receiving timing of the second radio signal is used for determining a transmitting timing of the third radio signal. The first signature sequence is used for generating the third radio signal. The first radio signal and the second radio signal are associated with a first synchronization sequence and a second synchronization sequence respectively, and the first synchronization sequence is different from the second synchronization sequence. According to the disclosure, through the designs of the first radio signal and the second radio signal, thereby improving system performances and transmission efficiency.

  • Patent number: 11895607
Abstract: Individual clock adjustments between electronic devices are typically based around a round-trip time (RTT) measurement of the reference message between initiating and the receiving devices. With increasing expectations of clock synchronization accuracy, as well as widespread use of wireless data networks, the presently disclosed technology provides a dedicated clock synchronization network that yields a fixed delay between hops and within associated devices of a dedicated clock synchronization network. By accounting for the known delays between hops and within associated devices of the dedicated clock synchronization network, better clock synchronization accuracy can be achieved than prior art techniques that estimate latency based on an RTT measurement.

  • Patent number: 11895608
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a non-terrestrial network (NTN) entity, a message that is associated with an uplink grant. The UE may select, based at least in part on the message, either a cell-specific offset or an updated offset that is indicated after initial access, as a timing offset that accounts for a propagation delay between a base station of the NTN and the UE. The UE may transmit, to the NTN entity, an uplink communication using the timing offset. Numerous other aspects are described.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for shifting boundary of an uplink (UL) subframe and/or UL slot in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) receives information on a timing advance (TA) offset from the network, and shifts the boundary of the UL subframe and/or the UL slot based on a TA and the TA offset. The UE transmits a UL signal as a response to a downlink (DL) signal in the shifted UL subframe and/or UL slot.

  • Patent number: 11895610
Abstract: In various embodiments, crowd sourcing techniques are provided to enable RTT-based positioning of UE. To address issues of discovering which beacons (e.g., Wi-Fi APs, cellular base stations, BLE transmitters, etc.) support measurement of RTT (e.g., according to IEEE 802.11mc, 3GPP Release 16, etc.), beacon RTT capabilities may be crowd-sourced from UE and maintained by a cloud-based location platform in a beacon database (or more specifically, a RTT database portion thereof). To address the issue of determining physical antenna positions, RTT measurements may be crowd-sourced from UE for those beacons that am RTT capable, and used by a trilateration algorithm (e.g., a WLS multilateration algorithm) to determine physical antenna positions, which also may be maintained in the beacon database. Accuracy of the trilateration may be enhanced by obtaining raw GNSS measurements (e.g., psuedoranges) from the UE, and performing a cloud-based RTK GNSS position fix for the UE.
