Abstract: A system is provided for emergency egress training. The system includes a training building including a first story simulating a basement of a second building and a second story simulating a first story of the second building. The system further includes a platform defining an opening and including a base configured to mount the platform on a ground surface. The system also includes an egress well operatively connected to the platform at the opening such that a base of the egress well is positioned above the ground surface and wherein the egress well is further operatively connected to the first story of the training building. An emergency egress training method is also provided.

Abstract: Disclosed is a training system. The training system may include a base, a plurality of gussets, a support frame, a plurality of connectors, and a plurality of locking pins. The plurality of gussets may define a plurality of adjustment holes. The support frame may include first and second support members and a crossbar. The first and second support members may be connected to the base via the plurality of gussets. The plurality of connectors may be distributed about the base and along the crossbar. The plurality of locking pins may be sized to fit the plurality of adjustment holes to lock the support frame in one of a plurality of angled positions relative to the base.

Abstract: An exercise device designed to strengthen the entire body, with particular focus on the upper body. The device facilitates the strengthening of the core, chest, back, shoulder, and arm muscles, and in particular muscles that move the core in the transverse plane. The device consists of two hemispherical shells, both of which have handles attached via risers. This allows the device to be gripped either by the spherical surfaces, by the handles, or a combination thereof. The hemispheres are attached to each other by means of a shaft with a variable braking mechanism. The braking mechanism can provide levels of rotational resistance from almost zero to virtually impossible to rotate, with the resistance level visibly indicated on the exterior of the device. The resistance level is changed by repeatedly rotating the two halves against each other in one direction or the other.

Abstract: A clamp device for being secured to a bar includes an outer sleeve having an inner surface defining an annular recess and an inner sleeve received by the outer sleeve having a channel that extends between an inner and outer surface of the inner sleeve. A resilient ring and a rigid ring are disposed within the channel of the inner sleeve. The outer sleeve is axially movable relative to the inner sleeve between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the annular recess is axially aligned with the channel and the rigid member is disposed in the annular recess. In the second position, the annular recess is axially displaced from the channel such that the outer sleeve displaces the rigid member and the resilient ring axially away from the outer sleeve thereby compressing the clamp device to the bar received by the inner sleeve.

The apparatus has a movable spring anchor bar and carriage stop assembly comprising an anchor bar with at least one elongated stop member arranged perpendicular to and secured to the anchor bar, the stop member having a carriage stop surface located towards the end of the stop member remote from the anchor bar and the stop member further comprising at least one movable means of engagement with the frame of the exercise apparatus. The anchor bar and stop assembly may easily be moved and readjusted one handed with safety and smooth operation.

Such devices may include a guide arm supported by a support frame; a receiving surface supported by the guide arm, the receiving surface for receiving input force from the subject; and a motor assembly in communication with the guide arm, the motor assembly controlling movement of the receiving surface based on received input force. Exercise and/or analysis methods described herein may include steps of instructing the subject to apply an input force to a receiving surface; sensing the applied input force over time; and controlling movement of the receiving surface based on the received input force using a motor assembly, whereby the motor assembly moves the receiving surface in a pre-determined direction, so long as the input force remains within an allowable tolerance, until a pre-set end position is reached.

Abstract: A system and method for automatically trimming and reclassifying workout data is disclosed. The system receives data associated with a workout of a user from at least one sensor associated with the user, the workout being classified as a first type of workout. The system processes the data to identify at least one time interval during the workout that does not correspond to the first workout type. The system prompts the user to select whether to remove or reclassify a subset of the data that is associated with the identified time interval. If the user chooses to do so, the system removes or reclassifies the subset of the data that is associated with the identified time interval. The system generates and provides workout depictions using the data, at least one of which illustrates only the remaining data that was not removed or reclassified.

Abstract: A cardiovascular exercise device is provided. The cardiovascular exercise device is for use to administer an exercise program including shuttle runs. The cardiovascular exercise device includes: a tower placeable at a first location; a user input associated with the tower; a pacing bar arranged to display a target pace of a user for a shuttle run of a track distance from the first location; and a processor configured to operate an exercise program. The administration of the exercise program includes the steps of: receiving a signal from the user input; defining a repetition as the time between subsequent signals from the user input; and indicating pacing information to the user based upon this signal.

Abstract: In a golf ball for professional golfers and skilled amateurs which has a single-layer core, a cover and at least one intermediate layer therebetween, the sphere obtained by encasing the core with the intermediate layer (intermediate layer-encased sphere) and the ball have a surface hardness relationship which satisfies the condition: (surface hardness of intermediate layer-encased sphere)>(surface hardness of ball). The core has a diameter of from 35.5 to 39.5 mm and a distinctive hardness profile that satisfies specific conditions. The ball is endowed with both an excellent flight performance and excellent durability to repeated impact.

Abstract: A golf club head includes a front body and a rear body coupled to the front body to define a hollow cavity therebetween. The front body includes a strike face that defines a ball striking surface, a hosel, and a frame that at least partially surrounds the strikeface and extends rearward from a perimeter of the strikeface away from the ball striking surface. The strike face and frame are formed from a thermoplastic composite comprising a thermoplastic polymer having a plurality of discontinuous fibers embedded therein. Each of the plurality of discontinuous fibers have a length between about 0.01 mm and 3 mm. In some embodiments, the thermoplastic composite is 30% to 70% fibers by volume.

Abstract: A golf club shaft used with putter type club heads for making a putting stroke on the green of a golf course is made from high-modulus fibers which results in an ultra-high stiffness putter shaft with high frequency, low tip deflection, and high torsional and bending rigidity. The ultra-high stiffness putter shaft prevents unwanted face twisting during the impact of a golf ball during a putting stroke, allowing for greater putt accuracy.

Abstract: A weighted batting sleeve or apparatus includes an elastic ring manually stretchable to be received about a barrel portion of a bat and to impart an elastic force against the barrel portion. The apparatus further includes a tubular fabric sleeve extending over an outer surface of the elastic ring and a fabric casing coupled to the tubular fabric sleeve and enclosing the elastic ring. The apparatus may be passed over a knob of the bat and slid up the bat to a position with the elastic ring near the end of the bat. The tubular fabric sleeve may extend over a hitting area of the bat but does not obstruct the hitting area. Accordingly, the apparatus is useful for practice swings and for hitting drills, where positioning the elastic ring near the end of the bat puts the weight in position to promote proper hitting mechanics.

Abstract: A tracking system includes a host station and a sensor station. The sensor station includes transmitters transmitting an IR synchronous signal and IR laser signal. The system includes a head-mounted display and a tracked object, which has a plurality of object sensors. The tracked object determines its location and orientation relative to the sensor station based on the IR signals. The tracked object transmits the location and orientation to the host station. The host station determines an actual flight path of the tracked object during an object tracking event; generates a predicted flight path of the tracked object; and renders an image of a virtual object on a display of the head-mounted display. The image includes a virtual object corresponding to the tracked object, wherein the image is rendered in a VR environment such that the virtual object moves along the actual flight path and the predicted flight path.

Abstract: Systems and methods relating to evaluating the performance of a person playing basketball are described. The systems and methods can be used to provide an evaluation sequence that can determine and evaluate the performance level of a person at one or more basketball skills. The evaluation sequence for the person can include a first sequence of actions that are the same each person being evaluated for a particular skill and a second sequence of actions that is based on the results of the first sequence and may be different for each person. Once the first and second sequences have been completed by the person, the system can determine a performance level for the person for the skills being evaluated.

The program may include a database storing a mobile device identifier (ID), a user ID, user information, and location data of the device. The application may further be configured to display one or more events of the activity as well as an input for receiving a score of the activity from the user. The platform may additionally include a server system connected with the client application programs via a communication network. The server system may be configured for receiving the mobile device ID, the user ID, the user information, and the location data for the client program, and may further be configured to receive the scores from the users, and to adjust the scores according to determined bias of the associated user.

In an example, the handle controller includes a handle body and a plurality of light-emitting units coupled to the surface of the handle body, and a method includes: acquiring tracking information obtained by tracking the handle controller in a first time period, wherein the tracking information includes: pose information, position information and acceleration; predicting the motion information of the handle controller in a second time period according to the tracking information, wherein the second time period is located after the first time period; and adjusting the parameter values of light-emitting parameters of the plurality of light-emitting units in the second time period according to the motion information.

User input may be received in an audio setup configured for combined-audio, with the user input including one or both of a selection of a desired volume of a first type audio component of the combined-audio signal, and a selection of a desired volume of a second type audio component of the combined-audio signal. Based on the user input, a corresponding mix setting may be determined, with the mix setting including one or more control parameters for adaptively controlling mixing of the first type audio component and the second type audio component to generate the combined-audio signal. The mix setting may be determined based on a data set characterizing an audio device where at least portion of the mixing is performed. The data set may be pre-programmed and/or determined based on testing of the audio device.

The data generated by the simulation engine can be communicated to the presentation engine 124 using a state stream.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for providing network applications. For instance, system(s) may install a network application on a first virtual server. The system(s) may then receive first data representing events that occurred during a first launching of the network application on the first virtual server. Using the events, the system(s) may generate second data for optimizing a second launching of the network application on a second virtual server and store the second data in one or more databases. As such, after installing the network application on the second virtual server, the system(s) may provide the second virtual server with the second data so that the second virtual server may use the second data to optimize the second launching of the network application. In some examples, using the second data reduces the amount of time that it takes for the second virtual server to launch the network application.

The windows are presented in a first presentation state, and are expanded to a second presentation state or a third presentation state in response to user interaction. The third presentation state is reached via the second presentation state, thereby reducing latency and complexity of menu navigation.

The at least one computing device converts the received at least one value to at least one fixed point value. Moreover, the at least one computing device provides to the plurality of computing devices the multi-user interactive virtual simulation in a synchronized second state as a function of the converted at least one value. Further, the multi-user interactive virtual simulation is provided to the plurality of computing devices in the second state identically and substantially simultaneously.

Abstract: A system and method is provided that simulates gameplay of non-player characters (NPCs) distributed across networked end user devices. The system may identify end user devices that are connected to the system through a network and are available to participate in a simulation in which each participating end user device is provided with one or more NPCs to be executed. An end user device may be available to participate when it has sufficient computing capacity, such as when in an idle or standby state. As such, the system may leverage spare computing capacity of networked end user devices to execute NPCs at networked end user devices during a simulation. In this manner, the behavior of an NPC may be tested using real-world conditions that may affect gameplay, such as a network connection quality, user-to-user game engine coordination and data exchanges, and/or other real-world conditions associated with networked end user devices.

Abstract: A multiplayer software “wrapper” is provided around a conventional single-player modality game. The wrapper allows multiple players, each with their own player device, to share a common multiplayer game session. The single player game is hosted on a game server and is coded to support only a single player device. The wrapper provides a multiplayer interface to the single-player game in a way that does not require any modification of the underlying game code or game server architecture. A centralized and automated gameplay system sits between, on the one hand, the multiple player devices and, on the other hand, the gameplay server hosting the single player. The gameplay system collects game instructions from multiple player devices and determines single-player inputs to the game based on the game instructions from the multiple player devices.

Abstract: A system and method for providing peer recommendations in a network environment are provided. A set of activity data and user generated content (UGC) associated with the set of activity data may be stored in memory in a database. Such UGC may depict the activity. The set of activity data may be received regarding an activity that a user and at least one peer have participated in simultaneously on the network environment. Corresponding UGC may also be received. A user-peer indication may be identified based on identifying a peer with whom the user experienced a significant event during the activity. Such significant event may be based on one or more event factors. A peer recommendation may be generated based on the peer indication and such peer recommendation at least a portion of the UGC associated with the significant even may be provided to the user.

Abstract: A system and method may detect cheating in a computer game, by receiving inputs to a computer game from an entity (which may be a cheater or bot; or a human), comparing the inputs from the entity to data related to inputs to a computer game from human players, and based on the comparing, determining if the entity is a human player or a cheater. The comparing may be based on performance metrics derived from the inputs, and may be by statistical analysis or, comparing a statistical distribution.
