  • Patent number: 11925807
Abstract: Pacemaker-initiated atrial fibrillation during competitive atrial pacing is a common arrhythmia with potentially serious consequences The novel pacing method proposes a novel way to automatically detect and diagnose competitive atrial pacing, and to deliver an intervention via a pacing stimulus in the atrium simultaneously with delivering a pacing stimulus in the ventricle, and doing this after a longer waiting period. By doing this, potentially hazardous scenarios causing atrial fibrillation in competitive atrial pacing are avoided, while the rhythm regularity and the synchrony between the upper and lower chambers of the heart are maintained. At the same time, the vicious cycle of retrograde conduction from the ventricle to the atrium—the culprit of the problem—is terminated and not allowed to reoccur for several subsequent cardiac cycles, thereby preventing the extended propagation of repetitive non-reentrant ventriculo-atrial synchrony.

  • Patent number: 11925808
Abstract: A method for identifying reversible cardiac dyssynchrony (RCD) of a patient and treating the RCD measures an event relating to a rapid increase in the rate of pressure increase within the left ventricle. The method calculates a first time delay between the event and a first reference time. If the first time delay is longer than a set fraction of electrical activation of the heart, then the presence of cardiac dyssynchrony in the patient is identified. Pacing is applied to the heart, and a second time delay between the event following pacing and a second reference time following pacing is calculated. If the second time delay is shorter than the first time delay, the method identifies a shortening of a delay to onset of myocardial synergy, OoS, thereby identifying the presence of RCD in the patient. Treatment of the RCD is performed.

  • Patent number: 11925810
Abstract: A filtering algorithm implemented by a filtering module in an implantable medical device (IMD), or in an external device for communicating with an IMD, is disclosed which reviews blocks based on a number of rules. The filtering module preferably comprises both firewall and instruction analysis modules. The instruction analysis module analyzes the instructions and associated data (if present) in each block to determine whether such blocks would compromise operation of the IPG or injure a patient if executed. Instruction rules corresponding to an instruction identified in the block are retrieved by the instruction analysis module. The instruction analysis module reviews the block per the retrieved rules, and possibly also in light of current and historical IPG therapy setting or mode data, or other received but un-executed blocks. If a block is compliant, it is executed by the IMD or transmitted to the IMD.

Abstract: A safety climb attenuation apparatus provides a more robust and visually inspectable apparatus for climbing safety. In an upper bracket, a pivot arm is attached to a base that is disposed upon a structure. The upper bracket includes an attenuation member such as an elastic bushing, mounted on the pivot arm or the base, that resists pivoting of the pivot arm relative to the base when a safety cable attached to the pivot arm causes the pivot arm to pivot. In a lower bracket, a similar attenuation member is attached to a base disposed on the structure, with an anchor bolt connecting the cable to the attenuation member so that the attenuation member resists upward movement of the cable.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for launch and recovery of a remote inspection device within a liquid storage tank are described herein. In one embodiment, the tank is accessed by opening an entrance hatch and then injecting a vapor suppression foam across a surface of a stored liquid mass to form a foam layer. A launching system having a remote inspection device is attached to the entrance hatch to define a launch and recovery space sealed from an external environment and isolated from the stored liquid mass in the tank via a valve and the foam layer. The launch and recovery space is purged of hazardous vapors by injection of an inert gas prior to launch and recovery of the remote inspection device. Prior to removal of the launching system, the surface of the stored liquid mass is re-coated with vapor suppression foam.

Abstract: A linkage control system and a linkage control method for battery clusters are provided in the disclosure. In the system, when thermal runaway occurs in a certain battery cluster, in the condition that an inhibitor in an isolation-and-suppression device in the battery cluster is in a normal state, the control host can suppress thermal runaway of the battery cluster by the inhibitor in the isolation-and-suppression device. In the condition that the inhibitor in the isolation-and-suppression device is in an abnormal state, the control host can determine, from adjacent battery clusters, a battery cluster capable of supporting an inhibitor, to solve thermal runaway by the inhibitor in the isolation-and-suppression device in the battery cluster.
