Abstract: An underground shelter assembly for accommodating a small group of people, the shelter assembly comprising: a generally cylindrical body with a hollow internal space for accommodating the small group of people, the cylindrical body being adapted to be positioned underground, an access passage extending into the internal space of the cylindrical body through an entrance of the cylindrical body to allow one or more people to enter the internal space of the cylindrical body, the access passage being defined by one or more passage walls extending transversely relative to a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body towards ground level during use to terminate in an access opening wherein at least a portion of the passage walls defining the access opening comprises fire resistant material and wherein the access opening comprises a fire resistant access door.

Abstract: An improved securable temporary manhole or catch basin cover is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the cover comprises a central segment attached to an inflatable element, which may be a bladder, tube, or tire. In another embodiment, an apron and/or a caulking layer is provided for the protection of the cover. Depending on the embodiment, the cover may be used with or without the apron and/or the caulking layer. In an alternate embodiment, the central segment comprises a plurality of tightening mechanisms around a perimeter of the central segment. Regardless of the embodiment, the cover disclosed herein is a unique, portable, and durable solution that improves the state of the art by facilitating the prevention of debris from falling into the sewers and allowing for easy removal of said debris from the top of the cover.

Abstract: An improved securable temporary manhole or catch basin cover is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the cover comprises a central segment attached to an inflatable bladder, tube, or tire. In another embodiment, the central segment comprises a plurality of tightening mechanisms around a perimeter of the central segment. Regardless of the embodiment, the cover disclosed herein is a unique, portable, and durable solution that improves the state of the art by facilitating the prevention of debris from falling into the sewers and allowing for easy removal of said debris from the top of the cover.

Abstract: Cathodic protection of steel in a concrete column in sea water is simplified by providing a pre-assembled unit including a jacket to surround the column carrying a bulk sacrificial anode outside the jacket and optionally an inner sacrificial anode with a cast grout inside the jacket. The jacket can also include a pre-assembled junction box and couplings to connect to the steel. The jacket is attached to the surface of the column at the water line so that the bulk anode is located below the surface of the water. The bulk anode can be formed of aluminum so as to be less toxic in sea water. An activator is applied inside the jacket either as a wicking layer or as a chemical activating material. The jacket can act only as a form work which is then removed after casting of the grout.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for implementing autonomous control of earth-moving vehicles, including to automatically determine and control movement around a site having potential obstacles. For example, the systems/techniques may determine and implement autonomous operations of excavator vehicle(s) (e.g., obtain/integrate data from sensors of multiple types, and use it to determine and control movement of the excavator vehicle around a site), including in some situations to implement coordinated actions of multiple excavator vehicles and/or of an excavator vehicle with one or more other types of earth-moving vehicles. The described techniques may further include determining current location and positioning of the excavator vehicle on the site, determining a target destination location and/or route of the excavator vehicle, identifying and classifying obstacles (if any) along a desired route or otherwise between current and destination locations, and implementing actions to address any such obstacles.

Abstract: Vast knowledge of construction machinery is brought to bear in the design and construction of an artificial intelligence machine that accepts telemetry data of uncertain origin and, through a set of decisions executed within the machine, and produces candidate telemetry channel identification data at its output. Candidate telemetry channel identification data may be considered sufficiently accurate when a confidence measure generated by the artificial intelligence machine meets a confidence threshold condition. Otherwise, the candidate telemetry channel identification data is returned to the artificial intelligence machine in which hypotheses are generated as to the identities of the received telemetry data.

Abstract: A mobile work machine is provided with a prime mover supported by a chassis, a first hydraulic pump driven by the prime mover, a work attachment powered by the prime mover, and a traction system. The traction system can include a ground engagement assembly for propelling the chassis. The mobile work machine can include an electronic controller configured to execute a traction speed control algorithm in which the position of the power reduction device is operated by the electronic controller to reduce available fluid pressure to a traction control device without receiving an actual traction speed feedback signal at the electronic controller. Alternatively, or in addition, a commanded position of the power reduction control device can be calculated by the electronic controller as a function of a requested prime mover operating speed demand reduced by a calculated adjustment factor.

When it is determined that a work state of working equipment is a heavy excavation state, the valve control unit controls a first boom operation valve, a first arm operation valve, a first bucket operation valve, a second boom operation valve, a second arm operation valve, and a second bucket operation valve such that passing of hydraulic oil from a first hydraulic pump to a boom cylinder is restricted, hydraulic oil is supplied from a second hydraulic pump to a boom cylinder, hydraulic oil is supplied from both the first hydraulic pump and the second hydraulic pump to an arm cylinder, and hydraulic oil is supplied from one or both of the first hydraulic pump and the second hydraulic pump to a bucket cylinder.

Abstract: Disclosed is a water tank drainage volume control structure comprising: a water tank body (1), having a first water storage chamber (11) and a second water storage chamber (12), the first water storage chamber (11) being provided with a first drainage channel, and the second water storage chamber (12) being provided with a second drainage channel; a drainage valve (2), used for controlling the opening/closing of the second drainage channel, the drainage valve (2) being provided with a full-drainage switch and a half-drainage switch for controlling the opening of the second drainage channel; and a water blocking member (3), moving with respect to the water tank body (1) under the control of the full-drainage switch or the half-drainage switch so as to control switching of the first drainage channel between open and closed states. The present invention uses a drainage valve to control drainage, can also achieve half drainage and full drainage of a water tank, and is simple in structure and reliable in function.

Abstract: A ventilated toilet for removing odors from the toilet base includes a unitary molded tank assembly with an integral ventilation cavity formed along the base and the back inside of the water tank. At least one water channel connects a water inlet chamber of the base to the water tank and is configured to channel water into the base when released from the tank, as well as to provide an airflow conduit for odors present in the base to be removed from the base via the ventilation cavity. A flush valve extends through the ventilation cavity to connect the tank and the base, and is sealed in attachment to eliminate egress of odors. The system permits substantial elimination of odors at flush volumes of 1.6, 1.3 or 0.8 gallons per flush by virtue of the enhanced seals and unitary construction. A toilet water tank assembly in accordance with the invention is also disclosed.

Abstract: A gutter debris chute assembly includes a chute that has a pair of entries that is each attachable to a respective pair of gutters on a building to receive rain and debris from the gutters. The chute has an exit that is positioned between the entries. The exit is attachable to a downspout on the building to direct the rain and debris into the downspout. The chute curves downwardly between each of the entries and the exit thereby facilitating the chute to increase the velocity of the rain and debris when the rain and debris moves toward the exit. In this way the chute inhibits the debris from clogging in the chute. The chute has a plurality of vanes each is disposed in the chute and each of the vanes is oriented to surround the exit. Each of the vanes is curved thereby urging the rain and debris to flow in a circular direction to inhibit the debris from clogging in the downspout.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are gutter guard systems arranged to efficiently manage the flow of rainwater across the system and prevent the matting of debris onto the system. In one exemplary embodiment, a gutter guard system includes a main body and a screen covering the main body. The main body includes a front receiver, a rear receiver, and a water management section positioned between and connecting the front and rear receivers. The screen spans the water management section and is secured to the main body by engagement on one end with the front receiver and on the opposite end with the rear receivers. When the gutter guard system is installed in a rain gutter, the front receiver engages with the front edge of the rain gutter, and the rear receiver engages with the rear portion of the rain gutter.

The modular assembly includes a number of configurable components. In one embodiment, a gutter guard system includes a customizable main body, a mesh screen, a front receiver, and a rear receiver. The customizable main body includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a front edge, and a rear edge, and the main body is arranged to be trimmed to custom dimensions. Once assembled, the mesh screen is positioned on the top surface of the main body, the front receiver is positioned along the front edge of the main body, and the rear receiver is positioned along the rear edge of the main body.

The modular assembly includes a number of configurable components for use with a specific trough-style or built-in gutter system based on the trough-style or built-in gutter system's design, size, and/or dimensions and the anticipated volume and flowrate of rainwater flowing to the rain gutter system. Such customizable components include a main body, a mesh screen, and front and rear receivers. The main body and mesh screen can be secured together to form a main body subassembly, and a water management feature can be formed in the main body subassembly.

Abstract: Building panels, especially laminated floor panels are shown, which are provided with a locking system and several core grooves at the rear side in order to save material and decrease weight. Building panels, each having a surface layer on a front side, a backing layer on a rear side and an intermediate core, wherein the intermediate core and the surface and the backing layer all comprise wood fibres and thermosetting resins, the building panels are provided with a locking system for vertical and horizontal locking of a first edge of a first building panel to an adjacent second edge of a second building panel.
