Abstract: An ablation instrument includes one or more electrodes that are configured as helical springs having ends for electrical connection that are configured as axial extensions. The electrodes are located on an inner hose serving as support, wherein the extensions are located at a smaller distance to the longitudinal axis than the windings of the electrode. Between the extension and the winding, a winding section is configured along which the distance toward the longitudinal center axis decreases from the radius of the winding to a lower value, so that the extension is located inward relative to the windings, i.e., closer to the center axis. For receipt of this extension and the associated electrical connection, the inner hose includes a trough.

Abstract: Implant supported restorations have proven to be a predictable option for replacing missing teeth. In cases of inadequate quantity of bone, the bone volume can be increased by bone augmentation procedures. Several factors can affect bone regeneration, one of those is the morphology of the defect at the implant site. A defect surrounded by bony walls (an intra-osseous defect) is known to yield a highly successful regeneration. The purpose of this retrospective case series study was to present a new step-by-step surgical procedure known as the Custom Alveolar Ridge Splitting (CARS) technique for maxillary anterior ridge augmentation. This technique creates an intra-osseous defect while splitting and augmenting an atrophic ridge. Sixteen consecutive cases were treated with the CARS procedure. All cases were effectively treated with successful implant placement. All implants were restored and followed for twelve to twenty-four months after loading.

Abstract: An improved preparation method uses an additional preparation tray as part of a multi-step tray alignment system which achieves orthodontic tooth movement. The preparation tray incorporates openings in the tray for the application of a bonding preparation fluid, such as an etching agent, or alternately, an etching and bonding agent, in the correct location and amount. The openings are at least the size and shape of the tooth attachments and greatly reduce the tooth surface area accessible to the clinician. This confines the bonding preparation fluid to an area equal to, or slightly larger than, the attachment contact area. The method and apparatus provide faster application, vastly reduced cleanup, less tooth enamel damage, and less chair time for the patient.

Abstract: A method of preparing an orthodontic bracket is used in orthodontics, and an orthodontic method is performed using the orthodontic bracket. The orthodontic bracket is formed of a correction wire through pipe and an orthodontic bracket body. The correction wire through pipe is placed on a central recessed portion of a molar occlusal surface of a treatment subject. The orthodontic bracket is formed by thickly depositing a dental resin from above the correction wire through pipe and by curing the dental resin, and by forming a though hole through which a correction wire passes by cutting front and rear end portions of the orthodontic bracket thus exposing opening portions at both ends of the correction wire through pipe. A period until the correction is performed can be shortened so that the present invention compensates for defects that occurs in the orthodontics using a mouthpiece.

The STV tray that has a frame with a U-shaped opening resembling a bite shape of the teeth in a patient's mouth. The U-shaped opening is located in the frame of the STV tray where the teeth of the patient should be located. The frame has lips and walls to structurally form and support dental putty inserted into the U-shaped in the frame as well as secure the dental putty in place when removing the STV tray from the patient's mouth. The STV tray in cooperation with the dental putty and one or more universal scan bodies is engineered to keep blood, debris, and moisture out of a scanning field of an intraoral scanner while capturing a dental impression of a dental implant's position and an accurate tissue topology adaptation under compression.
