  • Patent number: 12016258
Abstract: A seed treatment system incorporates an incline conveyor to mix freshly treated seed. A metered seed flow is maintained. A treatment applicator positioned above a tail end of the incline conveyor applies a seed treatment to the metered seed flow to form a treated seed flow. The treated seed flow freefalls into a transition zone and pre-mixes before moving upward within the incline conveyor. An eddy may form within the treated seed flow due to a partial obstruction within the incline conveyor. A prescribed amount of the treated seed flow backflows into the eddy in a cascading manner. Backflow movement may be contrary to conveyance of a substantial amount of the treated seed up through the incline conveyor. The seed treatment distributes about the treated seed flow within the incline conveyor. The treated seed flow discharges with complete cleanout at a head end of the incline conveyor.

  • Patent number: 12016276
Abstract: A hydroponic growing apparatus, system, and method is provided. The hydroponic grower includes one or more seed beds each having a length and a width operably supported by a framework. A seed belt is rotatable around each of the one or more seed beds between loading and offloading positions to and from a seed growing position. Seed is discharged onto the seed belt for hydroponically growing a seed atop of the one or more seed beds. Seed growth can be offloaded through the path of a stream of liquid exiting a liquid nozzle for cutting through offloaded seed growth in at least one direction.

  • Patent number: 12016277
Abstract: The invention concerns a system for cultivating plant products without soil comprising a plurality of shelves for cultivating plant products. The shelves have a reference axis and comprise: a supporting frame, a plurality of cultivation bars which have an approximately rectilinear shape, extend along respective longitudinal axes, and are coupled to the supporting frame so as to be arranged approximately coplanar and alongside one another, and have the respective longitudinal axes parallel to the reference axis and mechanical spacing members, which are interleaved between the adjacent cultivation bars, and are each structured so that the actuation of a mechanical spacing member causes a variation of the distance transverse to the reference axis, between two cultivation bars immediately adjacent to the same member. The invention also concerns a method for cultivating plant products.

  • Patent number: 12016278
Abstract: An irrigation system for a vertical farming structure having vertical grow towers and associated conveyance mechanisms for moving the vertical grow towers through a controlled environment, while being exposed to controlled conditions, such as lighting, airflow, humidity and nutritional support. The present disclosure describes a grow tower conveyance system that moves vertically-oriented grow towers to select positions along a grow line. An irrigation line having apertures at the select positions provides aqueous nutrient solution to the grow towers, while a gutter structure captures excess solution. In a closed loop system, the excess solution returns to a recirculation tank.

  • Patent number: 12016279
Abstract: A connector assembly for a plant support structure comprising of a hub, a compressible sleeve and a second piece engaged with the hub is disclosed. The hub contains a pass through hole at the center to allow passage of a support member. It also contains receptacles perpendicular to the axis of the central pass through hole to receive the cross members of the plant support structure. The reversible engagement features utilized to secure hub to the second piece allow vertical repositioning of the cross members supporting multiple plants.

  • Patent number: 12016280
Abstract: An improved landscape timber system including a spike and an adjustable length adapter. In one embodiment of the adjustable length adapter, the adjustable length adapter has one end that is configured to receive an end portion of the landscape timber body for changing the overall length, shortening or elongating, of a landscape timber. Once the adjustable length adapter is fitted onto the landscape timber an aesthetic edge is produced. In one embodiment of the spike, the spike has an adjustable length adapter with a first end, an opposite end, and a plurality of equally radially spaced wings forming an elongated body. The opposite end defines a pointed end for driving into the earth, where the wings of the adjustable length adapter converge toward a common point. The radially spaced wings define a polygonal configuration for improved rigidity of the spike and pointed end.

  • Patent number: 12016283
Abstract: The subject invention provides compositions and methods of using the same for improving plants' defense by employing naturally-derived chemicals. In a specific embodiment, the composition is from Parthenium argentatum Gray, also known as the guayule plant. Preferred compositions can up- or downregulate growth genes responsible for the targeted plants' defense mechanisms in order to create physical and/or chemical barriers, and produce detouring exudates, antagonistic compounds, or fumigating compounds that prevent and treat damages from pests in agronomic or non-agronomic plants.
