Abstract: Lipid-based vesicles, typically herein called transfection competent vesicles (TCVs), configured to safely and efficiently deliver DNA, RNA, other nucleic acid and protein cargoes into target cells. The safety and efficiency are each, and both, achieved in part by eliminating organic solvents such as ethanol and detergents such as sodium dodecyl sulfate from the TCV loading processes (i.e., inserting a cargo into the TCV), TCV storage processes, and/or TCV delivery processes. The cargoes can also comprise nucleic acids complexed with a protein, such as a ribonucleoprotein (RNP). The systems, compositions, devices and methods, etc., herein, in some embodiments, can provide empty TCVs that can if desired be loaded at the bench without use of specialized equipment.

  • Publication number: 20240342322
Abstract: The present invention is based on the finding that Netrin-(1) is retained in a stickier manner in the cell matrix at the cell periphery of the cancer cells, whereas Netrin-(1) is expressed in adults specifically in some tumors. It is also shown herein that Netrin-(1) is expressed very early during tumor formation. This makes Netrin-(1) an unexpected very specific target for imagery and/or targeted therapy. The present invention thus relates to compounds comprising an anti-Netrin-1 antibody, especially NP(137), a chelating moiety, optionally associated with a radioisotope, and their use either in imagery, diagnosis, especially companion diagnosis, or in targeted therapy. New diagnostic tests, which may be companion tests, and new cancer therapies, that may be combined to the companion test, are also proposed.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides in part improved apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing therapy to a wound. A system can include a first power source configured to power an electronic component and a second power source configured to power the electronic component in place of the first power source. Responsive to a first condition, the second power source can power the electronic component in place of the first power source. In some cases, the system can include a pressure source that is configured to provide negative pressure to a wound dressing positioned over a wound. The wound dressing can support the first power source or the second power source.

Abstract: Systems are described, including a system that includes an insertion device with a shaft and a distribution adapter with a housing and a piston. The shaft includes irrigation and aspiration channels providing a fluid circulation through a target area of a body within which the shaft is inserted. The housing includes first and second pairs of diametrically opposed ports. A first port of the first pair is connected to an irrigation port and a second port of the first pair is connected to the irrigation channel. A first port of the second pair is connected to an aspiration port coupled to a negative pressure source and a second port of the second pair is connected to the aspiration channel. The piston is slidably received within a cavity of the housing to be movable between default and reverse configurations.

Abstract: Surgical drains may include a tube, a drainage component, and an positioning mechanism positioned between them. The positioning mechanism may include a shaft configured to encircle a junction between the tube and the drainage component and a plurality of extensions that extend from the shaft. The drainage component may have a plurality of holes sized and configured to allow fluid, solids, and/or gas to pass therethrough, enter a lumen of the drainage component, and be communicated to a lumen of the tube for evacuation from a hollow organ and/or tissue in which the surgical drain is placed. On some occasions, the surgical drain may be placed within a uterine cavity via a hysterotomy following pelvic surgery and may be used to evacuate blood and other fluids from the uterine cavity and/or contract the uterus following caesarian delivery of a fetus.

Abstract: Articles such as dual-barrel injectors are generally described. Associated systems and methods are also described. In some embodiments, the articles are useful for injecting viscous fluids, such as concentrated drug formulations. In certain embodiments, the article comprises a first conduit (e.g., for transporting a viscous fluid) and a second conduit (e.g., for transporting a lubricating fluid). In some embodiments, the fluid from the second conduit (e.g., a lubricating fluid) lubricates the flow of the fluid from the first conduit (e.g., a viscous drug) by surrounding the fluid from the first conduit, and the lower viscosity of the fluid from the second conduit allows the fluid from the first conduit to flow more easily through the system.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for identifying an infusion cassette of an infusion pump that are simple to implement yet sophisticated enough to convey pump parameter data to the infusion pump when the infusion cassette is inserted into a receptacle of the infusion pump. The infusion pump includes a pump that acts on tubing to pump fluid through the tubing and a receptacle configured to receive an infusion cassette. The tubing passes through the infusion cassette and engages the pump when the infusion cassette is fully inserted. A detection system identifies the type of infusion cassette and sets and/or limits infusion pump parameters based on the detected type of infusion cassette. The detection system includes sensors within the infusion pump that detect the presence/absence of holes or other types of markings (e.g., colored regions or textured areas) on the infusion cassette in order to determine the type of infusion cassette and associated pumping parameters.
