Abstract: Described herein are examples of welding technique monitoring systems that provide lightweight, self-contained, and highly portable means of monitoring welding technique and/or providing technique feedback. The systems use a portable support platform that can be easily transported to different welding stations/sites, providing a marked advantage over legacy monitoring systems that use heavy welding stands that are difficult to move. After an initial calibration, the systems can consistently and repeatedly monitor welding technique relative to a particular joint with no additional calibration necessary, even if there is sensor and/or platform movement. The systems are additionally able to detect a welding-type operation without the need to communicate with welding equipment. The systems are further configured for use with existing (rather than potentially expensive custom) welding-type tools, thereby keeping the systems low cost and highly portable.

Abstract: A method capable of detecting a wrong workpiece (e.g., wafer), which is not an object to be polished, is disclosed. The method includes: creating inspection spectrum data of reflected light from a workpiece before polishing of the workpiece or after beginning of polishing of the workpiece; inputting the inspection spectrum data to an autoencoder; calculating a difference between output data from the autoencoder and the inspection spectrum data; and determining that, when the difference is larger than a threshold value, the workpiece used to create the inspection spectrum data is a wrong workpiece which is not an object to be polished.

Abstract: The device is a multi-purpose drive socket capable of engaging both a penta-bolt and a hex-bolt. The device is specially adapted for use in the utility industry where multiple tools are typically needed for securing electrical equipment. The device contains a retractable plunger that slides in and out of the head opening. To remove a penta-bolt, the user simply presses the plunger head up against the head of the penta-bolt, causing the plunger to retract back into the socket body. Once fully inserted, the user can loosen or tighten the penta-bolt. To remove a hex-bolt, the user inserts the hex-head into a recessed opening in the plunger head and tightens down the hex-bolt until the hex-head breaks off at the shank. In the event the hex-head remains lodged in the plunger, the device also contains an ejector pin capable of dislodging and removing the hex-head.
