Abstract: Touch electrode architectures for reducing the occurrence of negative pixels in mutual capacitance touch sensor panels that are caused by poorly grounded objects are disclosed. A touch electrode architecture can utilize mutual capacitance unit cells, each of which include a drive electrode, a sense electrode, and one or more ground bars. The one or more ground bars can provide an increased capacitive path to ground for a poorly grounded finger, which can result in a larger reduction in mutual capacitance between the drive and sense electrodes, improving touch detection. In addition, the increased capacitive coupling between the object and ground reduces the amount of charge that couples back onto nearby sense electrodes, which can reduce the negative pixel that can occur at those electrodes and reduce the number of touch detection errors. The one or more ground bars can be formed in the same layer as the drive electrode.

Abstract: Methods, computer-readable storage media, and apparatuses for surfacing content items in a messaging system. The methods may include storing a content item generated by a client device of a user, the user associated with the messaging system and determining a score to assign to the interaction and updating a resurface score associated with the content item with the score. The methods may further include determining whether to resurface the content item to the user based on the resurface score and causing to be displayed on a display of the client device a user interface comprising a user interface item for the user to display the content item. The methods may further include updating weights used to determine the scores based on interactions of the user with the resurfaced content items.

Abstract: A display on a screen of human-machine interface of a cockpit of an aircraft includes a text entry region, a navigation chart region, and at least one other region. A specific pointing mode, active when text entry is in progress, and a normal pointing mode, active at all other times, are implemented. In normal pointing mode, a pointing action triggers the command if any associated with the location where the pointing action is carried out. In specific pointing mode, only a pointing action in the text entry region or in the navigation chart region triggers a command if any associated with the location where the pointing action is carried out, while a pointing action in the at least one other region triggers an abandonment of text entry. Thus, tasks requiring a pilot of the aircraft to enter text are simplified.

Abstract: Systems and methods for virtual implant placement to implement joint gap planning are discussed. For example, a method can include operations for receiving a first implant parameter set based on a surgical plan that was generated while moving the joint through a range of motion. The method can include generating a first set of candidate implant parameter sets that are the result of an incremental change, relative to the first implant parameter set, to at least one parameter of the first parameter set. The method can include calculating a result for at least one candidate implant parameter set and providing a graphical representation of the result according to at least one candidate implant parameter set. The result can be color-coded to correlate to a candidate implant parameter set. The display can include color-coded user interface controls to allow a user to execute incremental changes corresponding to candidate implant parameter sets.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with generating aggregate data geospatial grid cells for encoding in vector tiles are described. In one embodiment, a method includes accepting an input to adjust a zoom level of a map. In response to the input to adjust the zoom level, the method automatically (i) identifies finest-resolution hexagons contained in a vector tile that appears in the map at the adjusted zoom level, (ii) selects a hexagon resolution level that allows for n hexagons to be placed along an axis of the vector tile, (iii) generates, from the finest resolution hexagons, new hexagons at the hexagon resolution level, wherein the new hexagons aggregate data values of the finest resolution hexagons, and (iv) encodes the new hexagons in the vector tile. The method then transmits the vector tile for display in the map with the new hexagons overlaid on the vector tile.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method can include identifying and tracking defects that arise in the operation of painting vehicles through a graphical user interface that enables display of a cumulative “heat map.” Computerized systems may employ methods for displaying a modeled vehicle, alongside various vehicle attributes, containing the identified defects. The defects can be sorted, identified, and/or grouped by type, location, where and when in the process the defect occurs, or other relevant defect or vehicular information. When the modeled vehicle is displayed, the variety of defects will be displayed and can easily be identified, for example, by using designated colors for each defect. The variety of defects may be overlaid on the modeled vehicle to provide a “heat map.” showing areas of high defect concentration and areas of low defect concentration. Such methods may be implemented, for example, in an application.
