Abstract: A system may receive a directed acyclic graphic (DAG) for an application. The system may profile the DAG with a plurality of computer resource allocations to generate an end-to-end (E2E) latency model. The system may generate, based on the E2E latency model, an execution plan comprising optimized computer resource allocations and timing information. The system may cause a computing infrastructure to execute a function in a first stage of the DAG model on a first virtual machine right sized according to the execution plan. The system may cause the computing infrastructure to initialize, at a time determined specified by the execution plan, a second virtual machine for a function in a second stage in the DAG model. The system may cause the FaaS infrastructure to execute the function in the second stage on the second virtual machine after completion of the function in the first stage.

Abstract: An online system predicts a number of interruption events within a time period and identifies anomalous numbers of interruption events using an interruption prediction model. The online concierge system maintains application state data that describes a state of an application workflow for a client application. The online concierge system identifies interruption events that represent interruptions to the application workflow and logs interruption events in an interruption log, wherein each entry of the interruption log describes an interruption event and its corresponding state. The online concierge system predicts a number of interruption events that will occur within a time period based on an interruption prediction model. The online concierge system computes an actual number of interruption events that occurred during the time period and computes a difference between the actual number and the predicted number.

The number of processor units divides the task to be performed for the vehicle into subtasks. The number of processor units assigns the subtasks to Internet of Things nodes on possible paths that the vehicle can travel on the road. A workload graph is analyzed to determine a resource demand that maximizes concurrency for tasks schedulable on the cluster. An ideal size of the cluster is determined based on the resource demand. A target size of the cluster is determined based on the ideal size of the cluster. When the current size of the cluster is greater than the target size, at least one node of the cluster is designated for downscaling. New tasks are scheduled on nodes of the cluster that are not designated for downscaling. As existing tasks on the node(s) designated for downscaling complete execution, the node(s) designated for downscaling are removed from the cluster.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for a messaging system to allow publishers that are aware of the identities of their respective subscribers to target content at those subscribers directly. This may be accomplished by allowing users and other targets (e.g., groups) to register their identities at particular computing nodes of a system. Then publishers (e.g., applications) may send out messages targeted at particular identities, and a publishing system may forward messages to appropriate nodes based on which identities are registered at those nodes. Legacy applications that are not able to target particular identities may instead connect to application adapters that are configured to learn which identities should be targeted by each application. In addition, anonymized identities may be used for application messages that need to cross between domains having differing security levels.

Abstract: Techniques and solutions are provided for facilitating the use of a standard (or “specific”) object type with different custom (or “arbitrary”) object types. One or more custom object types can be mapped to a standard object type. When a custom object type is mapped to standard object type, and a request is received to generate an instance of the standard object type corresponding to an instance of the custom object type, data sources associated with the custom object type can be identified. All or a portion of fields (or other examples of variables) of the data sources can be mapped to fields of the standard object type. An instance of the standard object type is created and linked to the instance of the custom object type. Data from the data sources can be retrieved and stored in corresponding fields of the instance of the standard object type.

Abstract: A computing platform may train an image comparison model to predict system failure for technology infrastructure based on telemetry state images. The computing platform may receive telemetry data for the plurality of computing systems over a period of time. The computing platform may generate, based on the telemetry data and for each parameter represented in the telemetry data, a telemetry state image, where each telemetry state image plots the period of time on an x axis, plots the plurality of computing systems on a y axis, and is specific to a respective parameter represented in the telemetry data. The computing platform may classify, using the image comparison model and using parallel processing, the telemetry state images. The computing platform may identify a likelihood of failure for the technology infrastructure, and may cause modification of operations at one or more of the plurality of computing systems to prevent a predicted failure.

Abstract: A computer-based system and method is disclosed for monitoring, detecting and generating a corrective action in response to receiving real time information from a monitored data center device. The system incorporates a principal control software (PCS) subsystem stored in a memory of a computer and accessible by a processor of the computer. The computer monitors operation of the data center device. The PCS subsystem incorporates at least one of stored data, stored algorithms, stored rules or stored tables for analyzing operating information pertaining to the data center device. An agent subsystem is stored in a memory of the data center device. Abstract: Aspects of the disclosed technology include techniques and mechanisms for correcting uncorrectable memory errors in DIMMs using erasure code. An uncorrectable error may be detected as a result of a read transaction on a memory address within a DRAM device on a DIMM. The data stored in the memory address may be inverted to produce reference data and the reference data may be written back to the memory address. A subsequent read transaction may be executed on the memory address, and the data read from the memory address may be compared to the reference data written to the memory address. Based on determining the data read from the memory address is different from the reference data written to the memory address, the data within the memory address may be corrected using erasure code capability and the corrected data may be written back to the memory address.
