    Abstract: A masticating juicer includes an auger configured to rotate within a drum to perform a masticating process with respect to at least one food item introduced into the masticating juicer with the masticating process producing a juice and a pulp. An end cap is coupled to an end of the drum and is adjustable relative to the drum with respect to an axial direction of the auger. The end cap includes a flexible ring disposed adjacent an end of the auger formed from a resiliently flexible material configured to flex in reaction to the pulp applying pressure to the flexible ring. The flexing of the flexible ring increases a cross-sectional flow area between the auger and the flexible ring to accommodate a back pressure generated by the pulp.

A ring adjustment assembly includes a ring valve having an internal conical portion in communication with a nose portion of the separator screw, and a ring valve carrier configured to reciprocally displace the ring valve in an axial direction relative to the separator screw so as to vary a gap between the nose portion of the separator screw and the internal conical portion of the ring valve. Adjustment of the gap distance determines an amount of the hard material that is passed toward the discharge outlet.

    Abstract: Screw press, with small dimensions, particularly suitable for the compaction of solid waste for disposal also using sorted-waste collection. The screw press comprises an initial large-diameter screw section with a wide-pitch helix, communicating laterally with the bottom opening of the loading hopper (1) in order to remove the material from the hopper and feed it to a following small-diameter screw section with a small-pitch helix, surrounded by an internally scored stator body. This produces the feeding and compaction of the material which also occurs in conjunction with the action of a constriction which acts on the discharge mouth of this latter screw section. A press of this type has the two screw sections (3, 4) which are separated and arranged parallel to each other and one above or around each other, so as to form overall a press which no longer has as its length the sum of the lengths of the two screw sections.

    Abstract: An auger compactor bin system that reduces the amount of trash and waste that escapes through the auger hole formed on the bin. The system includes a bin with an auger hole formed on one end in which an auger nozzle is inserted. Mounted over the auger hole is a sealing disk assembly that includes a coaxially aligned ring spacer, an inner mounting ring affixed to the end of the bin, a flat circular elastic disk with an inner bore or circular valve, an outer ring and a plurality of threaded connectors. During operation, the auger nozzle is axially aligned over the bin's auger hole and inner hole or circular valve formed on the elastic disk. When the bin is then forced over the auger nozzle, the elastic disk bends inward and stretches to create a tight seal around the nozzle. When the bin is full, the bin is then moved so that the nozzle is pulled through the disk and the disk rebounds to its original flat configuration and keeps waste and trash from escaping.
