  • Patent number: 7805912
Abstract: A wrapping means tensioning device is provided for a round baler and comprises an idler assembly and an application assembly. Wrapping means, like net, when drawn during a wrapping cycle acts onto the idler assembly, which in turn will press an application element of the application assembly against a roll, on which wrapping means is stored. This provides for proper tension during a wrapping cycle without the need for springs or the like, the force of which would need to be overcome, when a wrapping device is brought into a non-operative loading mode.

The balancing weight unit and the balancing rod is formed with a lever structure therebetween, therefore no tiredness of elasticity or damage may happen to them, able to prolong the service life of the machine, and stably and precisely control the amount of packaging strap stored in the strap reserving room.

Abstract: An integrated stacker for positioning materials in a stack, compressing the stack and positioning and sealing a strap onto itself around the stacked and compressed materials includes a frame, a conveyor mounted to the frame, and a stacking assembly mounted to the frame. The stacking assembly includes a feed for feeding the materials onto the stack. The stacker further includes aligning arms operably connected to the frame for aligning the materials on the stack, a compression section mounted to the frame for compressing the stack of materials and a strapper section mounted to the frame. The strapper section includes a strap chute for conveying the strap around the compressed stack of material, a feed head for tensioning the strap and a welding head for sealing the strap material onto itself. The strap chute defines a strap path. The feed head, welding head and strap chute are mounted to a bracket that is mounted to the frame along a portion of the strap path.

  • Patent number: 6688084
Abstract: A machine and method for applying reinforcing strapping to bulk boxes. The machine includes a plurality of strapping head assemblies arranged in series, with each adapted to apply a strap in encircling relationship to a box at a predetermined location on the box. As the box advances through successive strapping head assemblies, straps are applied in predetermined spaced relationship on the box, until the desired number of straps have been applied. The number, spacing and tension of the straps may be quickly and easily adjusted. In an embodiment of the invention, the strapping head assemblies are arranged in pairs in individual modules. A recovery strapping head assembly is provided just prior to exit from the machine to apply any strapping missed by a preceding strapping head assembly.

  • Patent number: 6662713
Abstract: An apparatus to be appended to a rotary printing press for binding successive stacks of printings with a thermally fusible paper band. Included is a band looper for loosely looping the band around a load on a platform. After having been tightened against the load, the band has its lapping parts heated by a band heater into a fused joint and is cut off from its continuous supply. A heater control circuit is provided for causing the band heater to be normally energized for a preassigned period of time at regular intervals during the operation of the apparatus, keeping the heater heated to a temperature necessary for melting the thermoplastic overlay of the paper band. After the heater has heated the band on each load, the heater control circuit causes the heater to be energized for a longer period of time which is enough to compensate for a temperature drop due to the heating of the band.

The fed cotton is directed into a baler mounted on the frame for forming and wrapping. The compact wrapped bale is discharged from the baler and loaded onto a transport device using conventional bale handling equipment such as a tractor-mounted loader. Abstract: A drive arrangement for controlling the tying function of a large rectangular baler includes a knotter drive shaft having a drive member mounted on it for free rotation. A one-way clutch is connected between the drive member and the drive shaft for rotating the drive shaft only when the drive member is rotated in a first direction. The drive member has an elongate flexible element associated therewith and is driven in the first direction by retraction of an extensible and retractable hydraulic motor having its rod end coupled to one end of the flexible element, the other end of the flexible element being coupled to a spring that stores energy only when the hydraulic motor is retracted. At the end of the tying function, the hydraulic motor is extended to its beginning position, the loaded spring then taking up the slack in the flexible element and the one-way clutch then free-wheeling.
